checkmate Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Started this one awhile back and have been working on it and a few others but finally got this one finished. Not my usual custom van but a near stock delivery van. Mostly standard out of box but I added some different decals, added a cargo of AMT kits in cartons, changed the kit wheels for some standard Ford commercial looking wheels and after finishing it, it sat like a 4x4 at the front so I lowered the front to give it some rake.
Mr Stock Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Great work Rob, I had a very similar idea to do the same with my Econoline kit. good use of the round 2 decals too!
kilrathy10 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 What a great idea....Looks great with those commercial wheels.....I like the lowering at the front.....That looks awesome.....
AzTom Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Very nice. My first new van was a 1975. This one is on my bucket list. I was hoping the "On the workbench" would have been more active.
Chuck Most Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Very nice! Where did you get the wheels? I have that exact set in resin somewhere, but I have no idea where they came from.
checkmate Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 Thanks guys, the wheels came out of a MPC van kit called the Sorcerer I think. They're a good fit in the Phantom kit tyres and look more commercial than the hubcaps and rims in the kit.
gatorincebu Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Tell the driver to drop by my house .Will you? good looking van and I like the theme. Be Well Gator
BirdWatcher Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Vantastic! I wonder if AMT used this exclusively for shipping the Auto Transport Trailer kits.
72 Charger Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Very cool Rob . Where did you get the load of boxes in the back?
checkmate Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 The load of boxes came with the AMT Fruehauf trailer, I got the decals from the same kit too.
AC Norton Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I just love it....great idea and nice piece overall to show AMT ROUND2 how much us old geezers love those kats.......the ace....
