bobthehobbyguy Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Cool. The 40 hood is a great idea.. Are you going to lengthen the rear fenders back a bit? You could then work the corvette splint bumpers in also. Know whatever you do iscgoing to be cool.
cobraman Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 Thanks guys. Not moving the fenders. I'll be lucky if I can finish it as is. As Clint once said " A man has to know his limitations ". : )
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I like that. I was hoping that you would bring the back out like you have done. Looking forward to seeing more progress.
cobraman Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 Sanded the body and gave it a shot of primer to see where I was. Looks like it's almost ready for paint. NOT ! More putty and sanding needed.
1930fordpickup Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Ray looks better than I was expecting. You have a good eye.
modelmkr2 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I really like this idea....to me the back tail need to "flow" into the rear end of the car more....I know you will make this cool what ever you do...
slusher Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Looking really good Ray, so much better then when you started...
Crazy Ed Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Ray that's coming along very nicely. Who'd a' thunk of sticking Fish ontop of a Snake!? Ya know, just to keep the MOPAR faction happy, maybe you ought to stuff an Elephant into a Snake...............
cobraman Posted August 25, 2015 Author Posted August 25, 2015 Made a little more progress on this mess. Body is just about ready for color. Still need to sand those tires. Did a mock up and I think this may end up looking ok. ( ? )
wayne swayze Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Wow! You've really created an awesome design with the 'Vette roof Ray! Great idea and wonderful execution! Can't wait to see this one finished.
Yenkocamaro Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Very cool idea, Ray. If I may make a suggestion, either rescribe the door lines to meet the upper part of the Vette door, of fill in the lines so you only have the Cobras door lines. I would also suggest that a protrusion in the front might be easier to blend in, but I would extend the rear quarters just behind the wheel opening, using another Cobras rear end section to do it. Just a suggestion. Looking forward to this projects completion. Cheers, Lance
cobraman Posted August 25, 2015 Author Posted August 25, 2015 Thanks guys. I do need to do some work on the door seams.
Sledsel Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Man, I was really liking it til the point was added to the rear. I was expecting the roof to be cut and rolled down.Maybe after color it will change my opinion.Very cool concept though.
Lunajammer Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) I love this idea. Sorry I joined this late. Personally, I might have sectioned it longitudinally at the C-pillar to help bring in the rear protrusion. But now that it's in primer, it doesn't look as dramatic as I thought. Keep doing, this is cool. Edited August 26, 2015 by Lunajammer
cobraman Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 Got some color on it this morning. Duplicolor Flame Red and Duplicolor clear. Still needs to be polished out. Looking pretty good I think.
cobraman Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 Thanks Carl buddy ! You working on something ?
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Pretty good trick getting those parts to work together, but I'd say you pulled it off. Nice job.
