Kind of a shock to me, I actually finished a kit in the same year I started it, might be a shock to others, it's not red or green.

Nice kit, I had a terrible time with the paint having to strip and redo 3 times but the kit itself was very cooperative until the end. All the chrome and the glass wind wings during final assembly are very fiddly and a real pain.

On the side pipes I was going for a hot steel look, I used jet exhaust layered with thinned Tamiya clear yellow, orange and blue on the header ends, Games Workshop Chain Mail on the pipes and Games Workshop Mithril Silver on the tips. Then rubbed the whole thing with Hawkeye steel metalizing powder and last gave it a black wash using thinned oil paint. First time trying that technique but I think it more or less gives the look of repeatedly heated steel.

Thanks it was a mostly fun kit to build, I've had quite a dry spell in finishing anything so I'm hoping it is just the first in a line of completed kits.
