Long time member of MCM , Tim Ridout : Bigphoto passed away on January 8 . 2016 . He was only 51 years old .

R.I.P Timmy

Wow, another one close to my age. Really starting to feel like life is getting shorter. Both my parents lived into their 90's, although their last 5 years or so weren't really "living" as much as existing.

RIP Tim

Although he wasn't an active poster here, he was always browsing through the various boards admiring builds and getting ideas for his next project. On the board here he was Kenny Martin; to me, he was dad. He passed away 2 February at the age of 60. :(

My mother passed yesterday...we had been somewhat estranged in recent years...got to head back to Ohio this week to help plan the funeral.   She (and my older brother) got me started building models w/ snap kits over 40 years ago.   She helped me w/ brush painting parts on kits as I was learning to build in the late 70s...

Sorry for your loss Robert, as I know where you're comin' from as I've been there myself. May your mother R.I.P.

Rob,

Sorry for your loss, I went through the loss of my Mom last month. She had been in rapidly declining health but I take solace in the fact she and my Dad are reunited in Heaven.

Safe travels back to Ohio and your family is in my prayers.

2 days ago, I was going thru my downloaded stuff, and came across this little thing, on John's car.

This morning I see it would have been his birthday today,...

I just learned that Rob Burns (Checkmate) from Australia who had posted on the board has passed away. I remember knowing that he was fighting cancer, so I checked his profile and saw that he hadn't posted here since December.   Upon looking at his van club's website, I learned that he passed away recently. He was a young man with a family so this is very sad.

Robert P Burns: Funeral Notice

The Service for Rob will be held at 2:00pm on Friday 6th May 2016 at the All Saints’ Anglican Church, River Street, Tumutfollowed by internment at the Tumut Cemetery, Capper Street, Tumut. Teesh and the Boys have requested that Majestic Vanners wear their Club Clothing; including Club Jackets if the weather is conducive.

Members of other Clubs may wear their Club Kit if they wish as a symbol of Unity of the Vanning Community.

Please bring your Vans or Custom Cars. RIP Stickers will be provided as a show of Respect. (Thank you to Matt Radings for organising.)

MV Cards will be available at the Cemetery (and prior) to write a Farewell Message for Rob.

In accordance with Teesh’s wishes we will be making a Donation to Can Assist in Lieu of Flowers. A Donation Box will be available for individuals. Rob was a huge supporter, running a very successful Annual Model Show in Tumut, the proceeds of which went to Can Assist.

Rob will be greatly missed. He made Majestic Vanners what it is, not just a Club, but a Family.

With great sadness comes the news of Arizona modeler Tim Pentecost's passing.

Tim died yesterday after being struck by a massive heart attack.  A robust and enthusiastic drag racing fan and scale modeling artist, Tim has struggled in recent years with some health issues.  He seemed to be besting it all, but it had taken a lot from him, too.

He was a great friend, master modeler, perpetually cheerful soul, and indomitable spirit.  A Moonlight Modeler for decades, Tim was a big supporter of the Copperstate Model Car Championship and the Desert Scale Classic.  Tim was a moving force behind the White Mountain Modelers of Northeastern Arizona, and his was the personality that brought us the legendary "Best Little Model Car Contest in the West," a wonderful event in his St. John's, Arizona community.  Tim's presence at GSL was always a highlight of everyone's experience.  And, his superbly crafted drag racing models have always been a treasure for the eyes.  His presence among us will be (correction - is already) missed.

No more information available yet.  Please have prayers in your heart for Tim's soul, his lovely wife Paula, their children and grand-children, and the many close friends left behind.

Tim always had a smile and warm handshake when he saw me.  He was such a fun guy and a great builder. may he be remembered fondly for a long time. Condolences to his family and friends,
