spencer1984 Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 (edited) Here are the finished pics of my S&H Torino. Overall I thought it was a really nice kit - not perfect, but it's fun to build, goes together easily, and looks good when assembled. The biggest shortcoming with it was the instructions, which were riddled with errors. I've already seen one modeler fall victim to them, so in the interest of getting some better information out there I made a scan of the booklet, corrected the drawings, parts callouts, and decal order of operations, and posted it as a PDF at http://spencer1984.com/85-4023.pdf Feel free to share, repost, copy, etc. with whoever may find it useful. I also have a full writeup/review of the kit here. As always, any comments/criticisms are welcome. Edited October 23, 2015 by spencer1984
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Very nice work and photography. Most of those shots look very much like a real car.

MGL Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 This is a kit I'm on the fence about but this just might win me over, very nice job.

spencer1984 Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 Thanks, guys - glad it was helpful! I used Tamiya TS-8 over white primer, then clearcoated.
Dave Van Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Nice work......I like the kt myself......two built....3rd started!
bbowser Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 You captured the TV car very well, nice work. Are the kit parts jacking up the rear or did you do that? That's the way we rolled back in the 70's
Jeremy Jon Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Super clean build Bill, awesome! The corrected write-up is great!
David G. Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Looks great- excellent photos too!I may just have to get one of these.David G.
spencer1984 Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 Thanks, guys! Bruce, that is the rear suspension straight out of the box - they have the rear axle on a pair of pillars to get the height there, and you can cut them shorter for a more stock look.
SVTInterceptor Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Thanks, guys! Bruce, that is the rear suspension straight out of the box - they have the rear axle on a pair of pillars to get the height there, and you can cut them shorter for a more stock look. I really enjoyed your videos you posted on this build and I went and bought this kit as soon as I saw your first video. I agree when you said the rear wheels were a little shallow, so I made the rear wheels deeper and I shaved just a little bit off the rear "spring" area (not very much.) Love your pics and your videos man. Cliff
spencer1984 Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Thanks! Man, those rear wheels look great - nice mod!

Daddyfink Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Nice and clean! I need to build me one soon. Thanks for the corrected instructions!
