smellyfatdude Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Another one, all done. Seemed to take me awhile, perhaps I was just savoring it. The build thread is here.
MrObsessive Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Not a real big fan of this year Hudson, but I certainly DO like this one! :wub:LOVE the color......very nice and clean! It suits this car very well!
jeffs396 Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 VERY nice! Glad you found a better place to take photos!
DrKerry Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Looks awesome, great build!!!!!! Love the color!!
Harry P. Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Is there something missing from the wheel centers? Looks like there's a hole there where maybe a Hudson logo goes? Or is that the way the kit is?
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Is there something missing from the wheel centers? Looks like there's a hole there where maybe a Hudson logo goes? Or is that the way the kit is?That's the way they are in the kit Harry.I believe they're supposed to be a small triangular shaped logo.Unfortunately, there are no wheel hub decals in the '54 kit. Ace-Garageguy Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Looks really good. Very clean, nice foil work, great color for the shape.
mike 51 Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 looks great...but 2 questions, are the parking lights missing or ? there seems to be far too much chrome in the grille areas? (not enough open space)
Ramfins59 Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 While you may not have enjoyed doing the BMF work on this model, you certainly did a good job on it.
cobraman Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Model looks good . As others have said, the color is very nice.
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 looks great...but 2 questions, are the parking lights missing or ? there seems to be far too much chrome in the grille areas? (not enough open space)Parking lights are clear. All of these old cars had clear parking lights all the way into at least the 60sAmber lights didn't come around until later.Even then, a lot of them had clear lenses & amber bulbs.Very nice build Smelly!! SteveWell, then that's quite a slipup on Moebius' part. Obviously there was supposed to be some sort of center cap emblem there, otherwise why would they have molded the wheels with a hole in the center?

Steveyes I know they were clear (well not really clear but white/frosted) actually asking about the dot in the middle, locating pin or ? the amber lenses/bulbs began in 63 (in the US) Edited November 7, 2015 by mike 51
fseva Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 A beautiful car, DW! And a great job on that chrome! BTW, what color/brand is it?
wayne swayze Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Looks really good. Very clean, nice foil work, great color for the shape. nice looking model for sure!
smellyfatdude Posted November 8, 2015 Author Posted November 8, 2015 Thanks for the comments. In regard to the wheels, yes there is a triangular depression there, not a hole. And I did indeed paint it red, though it didn't show up well outdoors. I've also since "frosted" the front turn signals, using a white gel pen. And Harry, if nothing else kits like this have one great thing going for them. The holes are already there, so you have to put the mirrors on.

StevenGuthmiller Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Looks better with the frosted lens Smelly!I hate those locator pins on the clear parts. They're so prominent if you don't do something with them.Looks really nice!! Steve
