dig Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Here is a fun little Beetle I just completed. Features a scratchbuilt roof rack, "bagged" suspension, modified stock steelies with stretchwall tires, photo etch headlight visors, custom decals, scratchbuilt console basket, photoetch plate toppers & of course the fun patina paint. Thanks for looking!
dig Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 Here are a few photos of the console basket. I used some leftover pieces from Wildhare Models' shopping cart kit.
dig Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 engine before body covered most of it up. Stock, just with some plug wires, dirt & a cool sticker
dig Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 I was having so much fun with this one, I also decided to make a rear deck rack.
Dann Tier Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 OUTSTANDING!! how did you "pit" the chrome?
dig Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 OUTSTANDING!! how did you "pit" the chrome?Thank you!! I learned that from Dr. Cranky of course. He did a youtube video on it where you basically just do a burst shot of dull coat. & then for the rust, did the same with red primer.
bbowser Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Outstanding weathering and great detail touches on the racks. Thanks for sharing!
slusher Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Very cool and great build. Where did you get the soda bottle...
