20151117_065025.thumb.jpg.6bd4a4eb842254I just finished this one this morning. It's been another of my on again, off again projects. I have several in the works. This one, however has taken only a few months. By my calculations I should be able to get another project finished by the end of this year. Banner year for me!

I really like how the wheels turned out. Added narrow and deep aluminum sleeves that my Buddy, Mike Flynn gave me. Thanks again Mike!

Very nice. Old, new, patina, perfect mix here.

I agree. The wheel treatment works well too. At first glance I thought they were whitewalls, but after I saw the underside shot with the wide meats, I went back and actually looked at the wheels, and saw what you'd done. Nice indeed.

Great patina! There's a panel truck similar to this in my home town, albeit with stock wheels and tires. Also has great patina with a clearcoat on top.

"paint the sleeves white to look like whitewall tires"...

In 2002, I started to wonder why no-one had created a billet wheel with a wide rim that could be painted black/white, so that a low-profile tire mounted on the wheels would just look like a vintage bias-ply but offer modern performance and handling. I've never heard of anyone doing such a thing in 1:1, but painting deep sleeves white is getting pretty close!

Thanks for all the nice comments guys. The weathering on this one didn't quite turn out as I had planned but, for my shelf it'll work. I never thought of painting the rims white. That may be something to try on the next one.

Well done, I found this a tuff truck to figure out what to do with, I started one like 5 years ago anyway.  You have done this a great justices.

Thanks again guys. I enjoyed most of it. Had problems getting the firewall to fit in place. I believe that it is sitting too far back but couldn't get it to move forward for anything.
