Reeves Racing Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Revell kit, Cosmichorme finish with silver lacquer La Mans stripes, 289 with HRM Webber conversion, Revell Ferrari GTO wheels, MM Honduras Maroon interior with a wash and pe seat belt buckles.
GTJUNIOR Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Very nice. The chrome is absolutely incredible.
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Beautiful. This is the first model I've seen finished using the Cosmichrome process (though I've seen a fair number of 1:1 parts done with it). Looks like you did a first-rate job.
Reeves Racing Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) Thanks friends, my friend Shane has a spray chrome business and painted chrome on the body for me.It turned out good but the Comichrome is too thick for small scale models. You can see it on the side louvers. But I am still happy with it because its a little different than most builds of this kit. Edited November 23, 2015 by Reeves Racing spelling
Petetrucker07 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 This is awesome. It would be nice if someone would do a tutorial on the Cosmic Chrome. That finish is outstanding!
my80malibu Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Wow a very stunning Model. If I have ever seen one.
djflyer Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Totally knocked out by the chrome finish - looks great with the silver stripes. What kit is this??
Dominik Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 This is awesome. It would be nice if someone would do a tutorial on the Cosmic Chrome. That finish is outstanding!agreed! this is awesome!
MeatMan Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Impressive! The stripes so fit that finish - and the finish itself - no words.
Reeves Racing Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) agreed! this is awesome!Since the mini system that sprays the chrome finish starts out at $2200.00 not including the chemicals this probably isn't something most of us could practically do our selves so a tutorial really wouldn't be viable. On top of that you need to have a set up to spray the base coat and clear too.Google Cosmichrome and you can learn a little about it on their web site. http://goldtouchinc.com/cosmichrome-systems/Your best bet is becoming friends with someone who does it professionally and having them shoot a couple of body shells for you... lol. Phildaupho Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I like both of your Cobras very much but this "polished" one has the ultimate WOW factor.
Helix Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Make sure you got the sun glasses on when you see this thing, nicely done Mitch
HotRodaSaurus Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 This is stunning, shame it's not available in a rattle can. All those Krylon type finishes with their 'chrome' caps only ever come out as bright silver.
