crazyjim Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I finished this little guy last week but forgot to post pics. I shot the body with HOK limetime green followed by a coat of Krylon green glitter paint. Pretty wild stuff.
restoman Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Love it! That's an awesome colour for a buggy.
Roadrunner Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I had one of the Manx kits bookmarked at Model Roundup, but deleted it yesterday as I'm quite sure now that I'll never build one. It certainly reminds me of my youth though, as I built a couple of them way back when.
Crazy Ed Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Jim, That's the Perfect Chartreuse Giant Metal Flake that belongs on a Manx. Well Done!!
Maxicoop Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 AWESOME lookin' buggy !!!!! Love the color and the sparkle of metalflake !!!!!!!!
Dann Tier Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Love It -the color choices, and the engine detail!! Q: what did you use for the texture on your floorboards?, mine doesn't look that good.
crazyjim Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 Thank you all very much.Dann the floorboards were shot with texture paint. I think it's Krylon from Wal-Mart. It also looks good as a bedliner and undercoating and comes in a variety of colors.

MrObsessive Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Jim I love it! That color is soooo Manx! I have only one "Dune Buggy" kit. The old Tom Daniels Sand Crab which I don't believe ever existed as an actual car. Sure would be fun to build someday as if it were street worthy!
crazyjim Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 I try to do light coats and let it dry overnight.Thank you Bill.
Snake45 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Love the sparkly finish! This is one of the few places you can get away with using that type of paint.
crazyjim Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 Thanks Snake. I think it looks perfect on a dune buggy.
