Metalsoft Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Here is my first model. It is a Tamiya Full View model. Very detailed and very intricate. Had a blast building this. Just finished about two days ago. Please enjoy!
GTJUNIOR Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Looks great. Seems like a very detailed model. Nicely built.
72 Charger Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 First model ...? WOW Man you're natural . You got skills well done
Metalsoft Posted December 17, 2015 Author Posted December 17, 2015 (edited) Thank you guys! Indeed it is my first one. Huge fan of the Japanese sports cars. I immediately got another one, because I enjoyed this one so much. I just started a Revell Datsun BRE 280Z I did however learn that applying decals can be quite the challenge. High octane Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Very nice job on that build Josh, keep up the good work and enjoy this forum.
Speedfreak Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Looks very nice. Glad you're enjoying this hobby. I have yet to build a Tamiya kit, but , if they're anything like the rest of thier products, should be great.
landman Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Nicely done. I can see another passion developing with the stash overtaking the built-ups.
disabled modeler Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 WOW...! And its your first build too...awesome work.
bbowser Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Really nice work. Welcome to the fold but beware, this is truly addictive
Mustang Madness Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 First build?!?!? looks awesome Josh!.... keep doing the great builds and i'm looking forward to seeing what you do next.
crazyjim Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Never saw a clear body like that. Pretty cool.
花火 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 kind of rare one today. nicely done Josh! Did you have another GT1 car that also has a clear version by Tamiya? Porsche 911 gt1? man I love Tamiya too.

I just started a Revell Datsun BRE 280ZI did however learn that applying decals can be quite the challenge. Choosing that kit as your first build was a ballsy move, but it looks like you succeeded in getting it together nicely. Just a word of warning: Tamiya makes well-engineered kits that go together like you'd expect, while that decades-old Revell kit may surprise you with part fit issues. I see one builder has already warned you about the suspension height and what to watch for when attaching the rear panel. You may want to ask about other "issues" and solutions so you don't get surprised.Lastly, welcome to our board! It's always nice to see new, enthusiastic people join us in this hobby.

Tamiya makes well engineered everything. One thing that helped the most was my RC car knowledge. I have been building and racing RC's for 20 yrs...
