What is this all about?

It's a film. Google it.

From Fox: "Michael Bay (the film's director) says his action-packed film “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” has nothing to do with politics."

What is this all about? If it's political, I'll be passing on it.

Only as political as Iwo Jima, Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Normandy, The Alamo, . . .

Pass. I won't pay to watch political propganda.

Actually, from everything I have heard, the filmmakers went to a lot of trouble to interview the people who were there, and asked them to "vet" the script in order to make sure the movie has all the details right and is an accurate account of what happened and not "political propaganda."

From a published interview... former Special Forces Officer Kris "Tonto" Paronto, one of the CIA contractors who fought that night, states in an interview with Politico, "There is no sensationalism in that: We were told to 'stand down'. Those words were used verbatim–100 percent. ... If the truth of it affects someone's political career? Well, I'm sorry. It happens."

Seeing as how Kris Paronto was actually there, in the midst of the fight, I'd take his word over that of any "film critics" or government bureaucrats out there who have said the movie is inaccurate or nothing but propaganda.

No political agenda in the timing of the release either, I suppose.

Simply an attempt to exploit  a tradgedy for money.?.

but, appropriately, apparently failing to do so.

I'd suggest reading a variety of reviews before rewarding the film makers with your $$.

Bay and the film present what happened straight from the mouths of those who it happened to. YOU then decide what to think. NO preaching in the film.  We should all go and see what kind of people we do have in this country. I saw it opening day and give it a AA++ and will see it again. I say see it and tell us your opinion.

It is a movie put together by people who want to make money.  It has been written and produced for this purpose.  If the producers can also try to embarrass Obama and Clinton that would be a plus.  This story has been investigated by 3 Republican committees and is still being investigated by a fourth Republican committee for almost 3 years now and they have never proven this so-called order to "stand down".  Where are the movies about all of the many embassy attacks and lost lives prior to 2008?

EVERY movie is put together by people who want to make money.  That's the movie business.  That's business

We need to stay away from the political rants, guys.

Again, I haven't seen the movie (nor do I plan to... it's not what I would call "entertainment")... but going by what I have heard and read, including comments from people who were there and took part in the events of that night, the movie is an accurate account of what happened. And I also have heard that there is very little actual political preaching in the movie; it's more a "docu-drama" than anything overtly political. Apparently politicians aren't really mentioned much in the movie at all.

Harry is correct:  No politicians are mentioned at all, not even the guilty.  There isn't any 'preaching' - for or against anyone.  It is at best an "After Action Report" and at worst a docu-drama.

Highly recommended:  see it and THEN make your own judgment . . . not what CNN or TMZ tell you to think.

Hillary has way more serious stuff to worry about than some movie.

No matter this is a political hatchet job. They didn't have to give names because the its not too hard to figure out who is being targeted. If there was something criminally done there would have been a special prosecutor and there would have been an investigation. Obviously there wasn't enough for such action. So we got this instead. It would be really interesting to see the list of who put up the money to make this movie.

You admit you haven't seen the movie! How can you possibly know it's a "political hatchet job?"

Sounds to me like you're jumping to conclusions without anything to back up your opinion.

And besides... it's a movie. Take it or leave it, believe it's accurate or not. In the end it's just a movie. And BTW... there have been a lot of movies made that tried their best to shoot down the other political side. A lot.

I read the book. It had no political agenda. It was written to tell the story of the people who were actually there. As always I hope that the movie is as good as the book.

Some people just have to try to smear anything they don't want to hear by calling it 'political.'

Life cannot agree with your perspective every single time.

My thoughts exactly Danno.

Ok, I had to wait a bit, take a breath and collect my thoughts before responding here.

You can say it's political, you can say it's not.

You can shout to the rooftops about "agendas" and implied guilt.

You can even vow to NOT SEE this movie.

One thing that cannot, must not, be denied is this.

Good men died.

They died so that you, all of you, can safely express your beliefs.

I haven't seen this movie yet but upon watching American Sniper I thanked my lucky stars that I have never been put into that situation!  Grand respect for those who have.

I agree 100 percent. It is easy to overlook that fact. There are always those who give the ultimate sacrifice for our rights.
