tomsheehy Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Latest project is underway, building up the Revell 72 Cutlass using the Missing Link hardtop body. I must say, this kit is a superb builder, the interior is especially nice. I'm doing it box stock, just added flocking for the carpet. Color coats are on the body, using 1972 silver pewter, along with the dark red interior, this thing just screams 70s GM... Edited January 30, 2016 by tomsheehy
Mr. Metallic Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Looking good Tom, nice color combo. This kit builds up really nicely. Here's the one I built when the kit came out
tomsheehy Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 Sorry guys, posted in the wrong forum...It will be done soon, I promise...
tomsheehy Posted January 30, 2016 Author Posted January 30, 2016 As promised...DONE. It was actually a pleasure building this one. A total of one busy week at the workbench got this one in the finished category. That's what happens when you're building a kit that you can enjoy so much. Missing Link resin Supreme hardtop mated to the Revell 2 n 1 kit. I built the kit components pretty much box stock. New 'glass' was fabricated from K&S sheet. Paint is automotive 1972 Olds silver-pewter, matched to a dark red interior...see first post for interior detail photos. NY tags are from Best Detail. Lot of BMF, but hard to see with the body being silver. I highly recommend the Missing Link body, it was very easy to work with, needed very little clean up, and it mated well to the donor, just a little bit of trimming needed at the front windshield for a good fit.
72 Charger Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 That is a very nice piece . Love the interior details well done
GMCMAN52 Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Nice job I like it. I'm wondering how it would have looked with a vinyl roof the same color as the interior to bring out that silver body
louie Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Absolutely gorgeous. I can't stop looking at the pictures. Also appreciate the information on the missing link body and the Revell chassis going together. Thank you. Jeff
mikemodeler Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Beautiful, that interior is outstanding, a shame it is hidden!
Helix Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Very nice build Tom, nice colour and the interior is spot on mate!
Maindrian Pace Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Love the detailing, the color combo, the whitewalls... Sooooo nice.
charlie8575 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Very nice work, Tom. I really like the exhaust look- really looks like the car has been driven some, but is still new. How did you do the effects on it?Charlie Larkin
