StevenGuthmiller Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 The '53 Chevy has never been one of my favorite cars, but when you see one this nicely done, it's hard to argue that it's not beautiful!Nice work Tulio! Steve
Speedfreak Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Tulio, I think you're starting to like those Chevys Great work, one of your best that I've seen.
Lizard Racing Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Great model work and photography! One would think that's a picture of a 1:1 car. Which is the point.
Sixties Sam Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Beautiful build! Incredible paint job! Great work!Sam
carrucha Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Good build. I have the same kit and I agree that the radial tires are awful. I just have to find whitewall tires that will fit the large factory stock wheels.
fseva Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 What's not to like?! I wish my builds were as good as your "four day Chevy adventure"!
Luis Ayala Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Spectacular build sir!!!Thanks for sharing!!!
Lovefordgalaxie Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 Thanks gentlemen!!Good build. I have the same kit and I agree that the radial tires are awful. I just have to find whitewall tires that will fit the large factory stock wheels.Great source for tires are the Monogram '53 Corvette kit, and '55 Thunderbird. The whitewalls need to be sanded a bit to accept the Bel Air wheels, but nothing big.
Greg Pugh Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Beautiful as always! Your paint work is amazing!
Kodiak Island Modeler Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 It looks a lot better than some of the models I take weeks to build.
crazyjim Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Holy cow. What a SHINY paint job. You are the master!!
carro Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Love the subject and that paint job is beautiful. What did you use for the radiator hose clamps?
Lovefordgalaxie Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 Love the subject and that paint job is beautiful. What did you use for the radiator hose clamps? The radiator hose clamps are actually molded on the hose itself. I just painted them silver after painting the hose flat black.
carro Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 The radiator hose clamps are actually molded on the hose itself. I just painted them silver after painting the hose flat black.Thank you for the quick reply. I thought they were photoetch or scratch built, they look very good.
om617 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Really nice build. This is what should be on the boxart, not that blue thing.
MGL Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I always enjoy looking at your black paint jobs.
Speedfreak Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Oh God... When you have seven cats, cats hair is on places you couldn't even imagine!! Not to mention I don't even bother buying new sofas... I have a collection of those adhesive little rolls to remove cats hair from the clothes before going out!! LOL, I missed this post before Tulio, I too have cats, and, lint rollers, and , a sofa with stuffing coming out of the front of the arms, (the rest of the house is unscathed) , but , i love my cats more than sofas! Very funny!
