Snake45 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Apparently it's real, and it's a '66 Vette.http://www.corvetteblogger.com/2010/11/29/c2-corvettes-custom-dash-gives-new-meaning-to-top-flight-award/
Harry P. Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Just because it's real doesn't make it any more logical or sane.
Snake45 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Just because it's real doesn't make it any more logical or sane. Logical? Sane? Logic and sanity aren't our lines. We deal in Hot Rods, friend!
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) I'm missing the point. I fly. You don't need half that much carp in a 200 MPH airplane. What's it supposed to be for in a car?Oooooo....wet's pway airpwayne. Goo goo gaa gaa. Edited February 23, 2016 by Ace-Garageguy
espo Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 By the time you have checked your gauges you're in the ditch.
unclescott58 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Hey guys nobody is saying you have to set your car up like that. Ture it doesn't turn me on either. But, if the guy who own the Vette likes it, more power to him.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) It's just stupid, but hey...that's not against the law, right? I WANNA PWAY AIRPWAYNE !!! Edited February 23, 2016 by Ace-Garageguy
Harry P. Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Here's the real question. Are all those gauges for real? If so... what are they all for? There aren't that many functions on a car!
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) Here's the real question. Are all those gauges for real? If so... what are they all for? There aren't that many functions on a car! Well, if you feel the need to have readouts for horn-button temperature, windshield-washer fluid pH, and hour-meters on the headlights...necessary stuff like that. SfanGoch Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Don't forget the digital egg timer to the right of canopy/door jettison switches.
blunc Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Where's the ignition switch? next to the rocket launcher switch.
slusher Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 If he would have used digital gauges they would be easier to read..
bismarck Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 It would be a real B--ch finding a short behind THAT panel.....
iamsuperdan Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 He built an homage to airplanes. I dig it. It's not my taste or something I would ever build, but this is the whole point of building a show car or a custom car. You build what YOU think is cool and what YOU want for yourself. Who gives a hoot if 90% of the gauges don't work? He built it for himself with a certain aesthetic in mind, and I say more power to him. Same as the builders of rat rods, imports, lowriders, etc. Not my style, but I always give props to those who put time and effort into their rides.People who deride others and make snappy comments about other people's tastes should really give their heads a shake. Let's look at your stuff and see how awesome and amazing it is.
SfanGoch Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) Gimme a break. Why should anyone who doesn't like this have to reel in his tongue behind his teeth and zip his lips? Everybody has different tastes. Just like artwork, if you build something with the intention of publicly displaying it, don't expect everyone to bend over backwards and shower you with insincere praise. One person's idea of a masterpiece is another's dreck. If the guy didn't want feedback, he wouldn't have posted the pictures online in the first place. Edited February 23, 2016 by SfanGoch
unclescott58 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Hmmm. The above tells me never to share anything I do on line. A guy thinks something is cool. He should be criticized because you don't agree? I'm sure you've heard the old saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say. Say nothing at all." Now I've got mixed feelings about that saying. Sometimes a little constructive criticism can be very helpful. But somehow on the web people seem to think its okay to say anything they want. Good or bad. Civility goes out the window.Again I not saying I like the dashboard above. It's a bit too much for me. But what is wrong if he wants have a airplane like instrument panel in his car? What's wrong with wanting to pay airplane? How is that hurting me or anyone else ou there? I do goofy things all the time. Some of them pretty immature. But, as long as don't hurt myself or others, and take care of my adult responsibilities, who really gives a rat's hind end what others think? I'm having fun. And I'm sure that's what the guy who built that dashboard was doing.
bismarck Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) They (the original poster) probably posted the picture with the intent of generating a discussion. Well, he got it.. for better or worse. Edited February 23, 2016 by bismarck
iamsuperdan Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Well SfanGoch, by that reasoning... All people who use black and white photos in profile pics are obviously slow Luddites. Have they not heard of colour? Get off your dinosaur and get into the modern times. I mean really.
