jjsipes Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 Got the Tamiya Pearl White sprayed on the roof and waiting for the rain showers to stop to tape and spray the blue. Thought I would do a quick mock up with wheels and tires. Tires are AMT Parts Pack White Walls.
Roadrunner Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I'm really looking forward to seeing some color on this one.
jjsipes Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 The rain stopped, the clouds opened up and the sun is shining. Grabbed my tape and prepped to spray the blue. Let it dry a little and couldn't wait any longer, had to untape to see what it looked like. Had a quick logo that I had printed to see about size and just laid it on the panel to see how it would look. Time to print logo on to clear decal film. Baremetal, decal and then clear. Need to paint interior yet. Thinking about pearl white with blue dash to match body with blue carpet.
espo Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Paint turned out great. Are keeping the nose up ride height ? Like the idea of the blue/white interior.
jjsipes Posted June 16, 2016 Author Posted June 16, 2016 I need to look at ride height yet. It was just sitting together in the pics. May want to lower just a bit.
Codi Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Congratulations Jason on a well executed build. Can't wait till you have it completed as are others I'm sure. cheers
Roadrunner Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 This looks great. I like the color combo quite a lot.
jjsipes Posted June 22, 2016 Author Posted June 22, 2016 Thanks for the comments guys. Got decals printed, applied and fresh coat of clear sprayed today.
misterNNL Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Remember that the real cars were base models with no rear seats and very minimal exterior or internal chrome trim. They were real work horses for contractors and plumbers so by the time they were traded in they were really beat up and worn out.Nice paint is evident.Good luck with the final few steps you have left to complete.
RestoModGuy Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Jason, looks absolutely cool and the work you have done so far and those custom shaved bumpers, great craftsmanship!
jjsipes Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 Getting the engine together for this thanks to Replicas in miniature of md. Will post picture tomorrow when I get more completed. Redid the carpet using embossing powder instead of flocking, looks much better. Need to get this completed next.
restoman Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Beautiful!I thought about the same two tone treatment for the one I'm fiddling with. It looks pretty classy.
David G. Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 That's coming along nicely, great color choice!David G.
jjsipes Posted February 7, 2017 Author Posted February 7, 2017 This is what I was planning for the intake setup for the engine but, it didn't fit under the hood. So I found a chromed intake and air cleaner in the AMT 55 Bel Air so, I decided to use them instead. Here is the carpeting using Embossing Powder colored Sapphire from Michaels.
