Fanof69 Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Hi All. I built this pretty much box stock except for the paint job, the interior color scheme, and some BMF. Used the kit wheels because I thought they looked good with this paint job. The paint is Testors one coat lacquer Inca Gold. Thanks For looking and comments are always welcome.
V8 Trucker Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Terry, your Chevelle has become very beautiful.
snacktruck67 Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 I don't know what it is, but most of the snap kits yield beautiful builds. Your build is tops.
MrBuick Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Very nice, that's a beautiful paint job. Did you mask and spray the rally stripes? If I'm not mistaken, it looks like the snap kit rear bumper actually has "glass" tail lights rather than requiring them to be painted on, right? I may have to pick one of these up and see if that bumper will fit on my '70 glue kit (the Monogram "Heavy Chevy" kit).
Snake45 Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 I may have to pick one of these up and see if that bumper will fit on my '70 glue kit (the Monogram "Heavy Chevy" kit).If I'm not mistaken, the Revell snapper is 1/25 and the old Mono glue kit is 1/24, so that won't really work for you. If you need a '70 Monogram rear bumper, I think I probably have an extra I'd be glad to send you.
RestoModGuy Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Nicely done! I have to admit, if you take your time and do the detail, a Snap kit can be rewarding and come out looking as nice as yours has if it was a level 3 kit. I've build several Snap kits this last year and to have a finished build in a week or less helps me get more into the detailed builds that take so long and become burnouts.Great looking build!
Dave Van Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Very nice work!!!!! I think that is a great kit......
mikemodeler Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 That model builds up so nicely, the proportions of the body are spot on. I just picked up one of these at Ollie's for $7.99- could have got the glue kit too but this one builds just fine!

I don't need a bumper, I just thought it'd be nice to have one with "actual" tail lights instead of painted ones. Thanks for the offer though.
Harry P. Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 I know it's not your fault, because the kit doesn't include any mirrors, either inside or out. Too bad, because the lack of mirrors always detracts from the finished model. But like I said, not your fault. Beautifully done!
Fanof69 Posted April 11, 2016 Author Posted April 11, 2016 Thanks for all the comments everyone I really appreciate it! Very nice, that's a beautiful paint job. I may have to pick one of these up and see if that bumper will fit on my '70 glue kit (the Monogram "Heavy Chevy" kit). Thanks Colby. Yeah the stripes were masked off. The kit comes with SS stripe Peel&Stick decals which I haven't used before(not sure how they would look) and they were white so didn't work with the color scheme I was going for. Thanks Jim and Mike. Yeah the way this came out made me buy a few more at Ollie's today. Got the '77 Monte Carlo, the '05 Vette C6 convertible, and the '57 Chevy Bel Air, for $7.99 ea. Those will provide an easy build here and there when needed

I do have an interior mirror from another kit I can use on this, but it it would look much better with the outside mirrors.
