ewetwo Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 A woman friend of mine bought this for me. Everything looked fine except for the front and rear windows. Haven’t a clue what to do with it. Missing a hood is the only thing missing.
Snake45 Posted October 20, 2021 Author Posted October 20, 2021 Doesn't look like that glass can be saved (unless you paint it black and go "slammer"), but that kit is a minor parts mine so would still be welcome at the Snakepit.
espo Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 The glue looks almost like Elmer's Glue to me. You might try soaking the body in water for a time.
ewetwo Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 I'll try the soaking first Snake. Thanks for the suggestion David. It's funny. Everything else was put together clean except for the windows. Who can figure? LOL
slusher Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 Parts are not hard to find someone has a hood and glass.

But the hood won't match your plastic color if that matters

I tried soaking the body in warm water overnight and no luck with the glass. It's now in Purple Power to see if that will release the glass. If it does I would be interested. If it doesn't I don't know what I'm going to do with it.
keyser Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Time for a resin body, or a custom. Snake said tons of parts, I agree. Good luck

cobraman Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 I have been working on the second Cobra I got in that lot of GB’s . This one was not as bad as the yellow one . 1
cobraman Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Second Cobra GB is now done . Gotta see what I can do with the third .
cobraman Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Well the third and last Cobra glue bomb I got in the bundle was not a whole lot more than a body . I had a spare body in my parts stash so I had the idea to cut them up . I am going to try and make a long nose Cobra dragster . Undecided as to a chassis for it . Still in a rough stage but you can get the idea .

Some chassis ideas for the cobra would be the flipnose corvette gasser chassis or a Malco mustang chassis. You could possibly alter a rat packer nova chassis also.
Bullybeef Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Finally unearthed my little collection of Amt 32 fords! There are some really nasty glue marks on these, these is one that is on top of my rebuild list( the first roadster) there are also two badly built and painted monogram 32 roadsters that have some potential of rebuilding.

Lotsa potential in that lot! Bit of mix'n'match and you're looking good. steve
Tom99 Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 These three were given to me by a friend, that was going to put them in the trash. I rebuilt all three to factory stock. 2 1
Snake45 Posted November 2, 2021 Author Posted November 2, 2021 GREAT job on those three saves, Tom! Model on!
Bullybeef Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 This is one that is rescue able, 32 Ford highboy frame and engine, the body was too far gone to repair, but it will live on as parts for another rescue. The glue staining is terrible and some of the parts will not come off without destroying them, so I’ll just concentrate on removing the chrome and clean up the rest as best as possible.
Snake45 Posted November 2, 2021 Author Posted November 2, 2021 Yup, that's a gluey one all right. If it were a rare kit, would be worth all efforts, but it isn't really. I think I'd spray-bomb the whole mess black and look for a body that would cover as much of it as possible. Good luck with it!

While not rare it is a desirable kit to me so I will spend some time making it right, the practice on this will help me save the Falcon that I scored. I look at some of your work and what you have saved and it makes it a little more inspirational.

Thanks for the kind words, but most of my "rescues" have been minor touch-ups compared to the work you're facing with that Deuce frame. The only full-on complete rework on that level I've finished I can think of was this old Revell EMPI Imp. 2
