Snake45 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 She is SO GOOD in VERTIGO......if by chance anyone has never seen..... Is she cooking up a big old leg of lamb in that pic?
sjordan2 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) She is SO GOOD in VERTIGO......if by chance anyone has never seen..... Yup, she was a great film, TV and stage actress. Interestingly enough, the American Film Institute recently named "Vertigo" as the best film of all time replacing "Citizen Kane." I don't agree with either of those as #1, but they're still superb. As for Hitchcock, I can watch "North by Northwest" over and over. Edited April 26, 2016 by sjordan2

Harry P. Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I have never understood why "Citizen Kane" is considered the best movie of all time.
sjordan2 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) I have never understood why "Citizen Kane" is considered the best movie of all time.I have never understood that either, except that there were a lot of techncal touches that hadn't been done before and are commonplace now, such as sets with ceilings. There are only a few movies that I can put at the top of my undisputed masterpiece list, and hundreds that are right up there...Lawrence of ArabiaThe SearchersPaths of GlorySchindler's ListThe Third ManBut come on, who are the pictures of the little girls? Harry P. Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 AKA Miss Almira Gulch... One of my favorite lines from the movie, when Miss Gulch comes to see Aunt Em and Uncle Henry about Toto having bitten her... Aunt Em: "Almira Gulch! Just because you own half the town doesn't mean that you have the power to run the rest of us. For twenty-three years I've been dying to tell you what I thought of you! And now... well, being a Christian woman, I can't say it!"
