Intmd8r Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 An older build, this is my fist (successful) experiment at executing a two tone paint job, using Testors One Coat Lacquer. Love the Testors Root Beer color, hence the name. Built as a curbside, as I was not overly impressed with the engine detail or the fit/finish of the hood.
unclescott58 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I'm not a big fan of '37 Fords. But, that is one very nice build. I like in a lot. Great job.
Fanof69 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Very nice job on the two tone paint!! Looks fantastic.

What brand of paint ?Testors One Coat Lacquer - straight fromthe can. Don't remember what the white pearl color was called, but I did use Inca Gold as a base coat for Root Beer color.

Is that a gold stripe along the sides?Yup - I bought a roll of gold tape a while back that had different sizes of stripes. Just cut to length, and trimmed it on the body. I think its made by Testors????I used the same roll to make the racing stipe on my '55 Gasser.

Don't recall who made them, but they are surprisingly great quality. They seem to be finding their way into my Hot Rod builds lately.....
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Nice. I'm usually not a fan of 2-tones on fat-fendered Fords, but this works well. Very attractive car.
