JTalmage Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I know I'm not crazy, I saw a post about it here, and I saw a release date on another site.... but now I can't find a thing! What gives? is it for Q4?
vamach1 Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Round 2 had a box on display at the NNL East show. I do not recall the release date - nothing on the round2 website.
RJWood Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Round2 models facebook page posted May.13 at 7:28am.has it listed as a June release. That's all I know about it.
unclescott58 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Anybody know any details on this one. Is it the old AMT Mach I kit? Can it be built stock?
Daddyfink Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Anybody know any details on this one. Is it the old AMT Mach I kit? Can it be built stock? It should be, looks pretty stock on the box art.
unclescott58 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 It should be, looks pretty stock on the box art. Ah.... So it's not the AMT '73, but the MPC. All the better.
vamach1 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Of course that side stripe on the box art is not "stock." Let's just say I'm not holding my breath for any improvements in this version. A set of 73 only factory aluminum wheels would be cool but that's not going to happen.
louie Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Why is there a general mills logo on the box, I thought that they were long gone from the model kit business? Or from Mpc ownership?Jeff
Harry Joy Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Looking forward to this.Went ahead and pre-ordered one at the local shop.
Nova-ss Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Me to..lookin forward to this one,for parts and a couple to build...Chris
Bob Ellis Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 It's worth buying as the AMT can not be built stock. Missing Link sells the stock 1971-72 bumper and grill to back date it to a big block or BOSS
AC Norton Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Why is there a general mills logo on the box, I thought that they were long gone from the model kit business? Or from Mpc ownership? Jeff Looking forward to this.Went ahead and pre-ordered one at the local shop. ....just noticed this thread now....Jeff, that picture you are seeing on our posting is the original 73 issue kit, when MPC and General Mills had a business arrangement for some years,,,the new issue coming won't have that art on the box.....and Harry,,,when did your LHS say your pre order would be in stock, as I too will order one from mine.....thanks boys,,,,,the Ace....

General Mills bought MPC from George Toteff in 1970 though I believe the 1971 boxes shows nothing. 1972 first GM logo
louie Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Thanks Guys I appreciate the information on the General mills and Mpc partnership as I knew a little bit but not this much. I never try to stop learning and when it comes to the car kits, I'm all ears for everything. Again Thank you. Jeff
Mr mopar Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Dose anyone have one they can share with us the contents of inside the box?
JTalmage Posted September 1, 2016 Author Posted September 1, 2016 Release date was supposedly yesterday. I haven't made it to my local hobby shop to check.
randyc Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Is this the Warren Tope Mustang? I would like to know more about it. Is it hte samed car that gets kinda bad reviews everytime it's released? The road race version intrigures me.Randyc
JTalmage Posted September 1, 2016 Author Posted September 1, 2016 No it's supposedly the re-do of the MPC stock version, but with the added parts.
RatRod Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 (edited) It's out now, seen it at HobbyTown in Washington State yesterday!!! Edited September 1, 2016 by RatRod
'70 Grande Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Sure would like to see some pics of this newly-reissued Mustang kit, if anybody's picked one up already and has it on their workbench!
Mr Stock Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Mines due in thr next few days, I'll post pics unless I get beaten to it..
Chuck Most Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 By any chance would this be the tooling that this one was based on? If so... I think I'll pass.
AC Norton Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 By any chance would this be the tooling that this one was based on? If so... I think I'll pass. Chuck, the one you are showing box art of is the actual AMT 73 kit, same in most ways to the newer TOPE trans am issue for the most part,,,, while the newest release mentioned is true MPC , I suppose being similar to their 73 annual. I don't yet have one, but recalling kits I have owned back and forth over the years, the MPC version would be my choice of the two. hope this clarifies....the Ace....
