V8 Trucker Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 The Freightliner I have completed a few years ago, was not easy on grinds the old AMT kits, mainly because the decals usually due to age no longer so great .So here at the tractor, I then the decals (white stripes) with the brush since these translucent. Something fat, but from a distance you will not notice it so. Greeting Jan
signguy2108 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Nothing wrong with this, Great looking build! the graphics on the trailer make it that much more real.
extmcdriver Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I love it!!! Great job on the Freightshaker!!!!
gotnitro? Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Very nice!! The paint scheme looks very good and the trailer certainly ties everything together . The photo could easily be mistaken for the real deal
kilrathy10 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 You've done a wonderful job on this one, Man.....I've always wanted to build this one....Since I was a kid !! Never had the money back then.....And, now that I'm older, I STILL don't.....Due to Ebay prices.... Anyway...This is a great representation.....Everything is clean and well assembled.....Like you said, I don't notice any flaws in the paint or decals.....Beautiful job.....
V8 Trucker Posted June 29, 2016 Author Posted June 29, 2016 Hi people, I am glad that you like the Freightliner. @ kilrathy10: I also have been thinking whether I should spend so much money for the kits.particularly since even customs and shipping were added. The design liked it so much, because I bought the kits.
purepmd Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Very sharp build! This, and the Watkins KW were always my favorite box art kits. Well done.
Leonidas Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Very nice build, I like it a lot. Awesome color combo, you've done a super great job on it.
V8 Trucker Posted July 11, 2016 Author Posted July 11, 2016 Leith, I am glad that you like the Freightliner.
Warren D Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Very nice, I like it! For the future, you could use a sheet of solid white decal film and cut a wide stripe. Microscale makes sheets in many colors. Another thing I have done is use Testors Decal Coating to spray over old decals. This works as long as the decals aren't cracked, it won't fix tears, cracks or missing pieces but it will help keep them together long enough to get them into position.
V8 Trucker Posted August 14, 2016 Author Posted August 14, 2016 Hi Warren, nice that you like the truck and thanks for the tips
