Well I've nothing but good things to say about this kit. I've stretched the chassis 1/4 inch forward of the steering box mount. The engine is a inline six from the AMT '51 Chevy. I've added the belt and supercharger from the Revell '57 Ford kits. Lots of modification. I sanded off two leafs from the front suspension, omitted the kit shocks and added friction shocks. The rest of the kit is pretty stock.

Not my choice of color ( but I like em shiny), but this is a very nice, clean build. I know the look you were after with the paint choice though, and you nailed it. Super cool.

Steve - the engine is from the AMT 51 Chevy. There are at least three kits with decent inline six cylinder engines. In hindsight, I wish I'd used the the one from the AMT '37 Chevy, it's a much nicer piece. The Paxton was a gift from a friend, from his Revell '57 Ford.

Ed, Snake, that is my goal with every build.

A couple notes on this kit.

1. The windshield frame mounts from the OUTSIDE. Then the windshield goes in from the inside. The instructions say otherwise but it is all lies. Lies I tell you!

2. For the channeled version, DO NOT glue the interior floor to the chassis, (it say to says in the instructions, but it's just more lies!) until your final assembly. Build the interior as a separate assembly. It is not easy to get into the body, but it would be impossible with the chassis attached.

3. Even with un-upholstered panels, the battery and gas tank can hardly be seen from the outside of the model. Unless you are opening the trunk/rumble seat, I would just save those for another build.

4. The very tiny gauge decals are not worth the hassle. They are so small the adhesive is gone in a flash.

5. The headlights are beautiful. Although I would like to meet the engineer who decided to put a mounting tab right on the top of the part, which is a chromed piece. I have a few choice words for him/her.

6. The surface of the headlight support where it meets the chassis is shaped oddly. I'm not sure what the original plan was.

7. I will very likely build at least one more of these soon. A very unusual thing for me.

Glad you guys liked it!

The air going into that engine must be very clean... ;)

Great looking model Rob , the satin finish really looks good on this one !  I also like the idea of installing the Chevy 6 cylinder , with white plug wires no less .  Very cool ! :D

Very interesting build. The in line 6 is not the Chevrolet engine you would expect to find, and then put a blower on it, great idea. The roof insert has a very different look, wonder what type of material you are representing there? Thank you for the heads up on the windshield assembly, this is one I would like to build soon.

It is leopard print decals film for use in interiors. I forgot though, that it is on a clear background and would need to be on a gold paint to really look like leopard, but I kind of liked it anyway.
