I'm not a Cubs fan (White Sox are my team), but living in the Chicago area, it is nice to see the Cubs made it back to the World Series (finally!).

But they are choking big time... too many young players that are too anxious to make something happen means too many swings at pitches waaaaaaay out of the strike zone. They're trying too hard, trying to be the hero, and now they're in a spot where they have to win the next three in a row... or it's all over. The odds are against them. I doubt they can beat Cleveland three games straight, especially with the last two being in Cleveland.

Oh well, as the saying here goes... "wait until next year." :P

Best Cubs team in my lifetime and wanted to see them win it all since they made it to the Word Series. The Cubs have been my team since I was 7....

Wait 'til next year? The White Sox have been sayin' that since early July.

Last World Series I listened to was in '64, between the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Yankees, and it was the end of an era. I think Yogi Bera was still the Yankees manager, Mickey Mantle hit his 16th World Series homer, there was a 3-3 tie going into game 7, and the radio announcers were Phil Rizzuto, Kurt Gowdy, Joe Garrigiola and Harry Carey. A real classic episode in the history of baseball.

I lived on the Jersey shore, about 60 miles south of NYC, and was a Yankees fan. They lost, and I pretty much lost interest in baseball that day.

I lived in Atlanta when Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's lifetime home-run record in '74, and that was pretty cool, but I've only been to one or 2 Braves games since 1969.

I really hope the Cubs don't win a World Series, because everyone here will think that the Detroit Lions might win a Super Bowl! And those would both just be WRONG!!

I was happy to see the Cubs facing the Indians, a great matchup, my opinion.  I'm hoping for the Indians win, I went to several of their games as a kid, spending lots of summers in Ohio and the Great Lakes.

I liked too as a kid, that my Dad would come home early during the Series and we'd watch TV together.  But boy did he hate the Yankees!  My favorite team.

I more than likely watched the games that Bill talks about too, great times.

You are right about the players swinging at bad pitches Harry, but don't look now, the Cubs have forced a game 7!

I can only imagine what Chicago will be like if they pull off the comeback and win game 7 tonight! And "next year" is here!

If you watch baseball at all, you'll see batters swing at bad pitches all the time. You'll also see the defense making errors too. It's nothing new.

Play ball!

Wow, game 7, exciting.

I'd say being a sucker for pitches off zone may easily equal home runs and big hits.

Every player knows high and outside is a sure big hit, often over the fence.  Done it many times.

Lets have a great closing game for 2 famous clubs!

Though I was rooting for the Indians, congrats to the Cubs and their fans!  108 years is a looong drought.  That final game was a great one.

Wow!  What a game!   What a team!  In fact, BOTH teams were great!

But, glad to see the Cubbies finally pulled it off!!

Congrats, Chicagoland!  B)
