FWIW, it would appear that many of the pictures posted here from the Shorpy site originated from the Library Of Congress archive (one of my favorite resources).

They are, but I am reasonably sure all have been cleaned up and edited before being uploaded and hosted on the site.

A plate of Ice Cream?

Ya that's what I was just thinking. I guess they discovered the use of bowls a little later on. They may have been losing the sprinkles rolling off the plate and then there is the melting.

I wonder if this has more to do with serving ice cream with cake and pie, rather than eating ice cream as a stand alone item, save for when served inside a cone?

Mack BX rail truck from 1937 or so.  I've known of their railbuses.  This one I think is new to me.  Here it is seen shipped on a flat car.  I wonder where it went to.  Note lights on the roof and bell on the front corner of the frame.

I scroll through about 20 pages every night, saving some of the auto themed images. If you head to shorpy.com and use the search function, you can probably find the auto-themed images more easily, then read the comments for each image. Many times, commenters provide info regarding what is in the images, but I rarely read the comments, so I can't provide any context.

That car under the tree could literally be any make . It has an aftermarket speedster body mounted it,
