exesivefire Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 Up to this point everything's looking very good. It's too bad the 409 won't work out for you...any thoughts on which direction you'll go from this point??? The dash and your single gauge in the center is awesome!!! ???????? I'm probably going to use the SBC from the new 30 kit.. I have an idea for the intake and maybe the valve covers. Andy what about the 4 banger you had mocked up in the other model A you had going a few years ago. I think it was a pinto 4 If my memory is correct. That's still living in that project.. it's also a 24th scale engine so it's better suited for the old monogram body that now lives on that chassis. I really intend to finish that one day.Your gauge is excellent.looks very cool...The gauge is really nice! That guage looks great!thank you!
Impalow Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 looks great buddy! remind me to take a couple of photos of our cars together Tuesday... I keep forgetting.
wayne swayze Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 This just keeps getting better! My current favourite build on the forum! And yes the center guage is super!
Lowlife ! ! Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Coming along great, new wheels suit it well.... How bout using a modern V6 in there? Just thought it might suit it ??
exesivefire Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 Thanks everyone! I'm sad about the W engine too, but it would have been a struggle in every way.
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Any more progress. I have been enjoying seeing this project come together.
exesivefire Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 Any more progress. I have been enjoying seeing this project come together.not yet, I've been slightly distracted by other projects but I'll be back to this soon
exesivefire Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 So I ran out of luck with my eyeball engineering. didn't leave enough room for the rear diff, so that awesome rear cross member I made? Yep had to go... oh well this should do. Although now that I look at it I think I could have done something else. I need to get moving though or I'm never going to finish. I also notched the frame and bedsides while I was at it.
exesivefire Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 Parts box quick change, aluminum rod and dome drilled out aluminum tube later and I have a rear end. I'll have to figure out a rear cover for it but I'm moving forward. Now it fits where it was supposed to
bobthehobbyguy Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Question I like your rear axle holders think they are a great idea. Howare you able to keep the nose of the rear end pointing forward.
exesivefire Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 Question I like your rear axle holders think they are a great idea. Howare you able to keep the nose of the rear end pointing forward.drill the hole the same size as the aluminum rod in there. Holds pretty tight.
Mr. Metallic Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 How have I missed this build up until now??? Great fabrication and eye for design. I'm following along now!
exesivefire Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 Had to remake that rear part again. It wasn't strong enough before.
bobthehobbyguy Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 That new rear cross member looks good. Love this project. Glad you are willing to redo things to get them right. Hopefully you can continue forward.
wayne swayze Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Lovin' this build! Please don't shelve it! (Actually, I have shelf room for it when you finish! )
