satterwhite78 Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 A replica of a actual car I own while in college. 258 cid straight 6 cylinder with a 3 speed. Good on gas , terrible on door hinges and constant ribbing from my buddies. Bandit Resin body with the AMT 75 Gremlin kit as a donor, a mysterious straight six for the engine and the front seats from the parts box b/c the donor seat won't even close to being considered ( to narrow/ skinny). Since no decals where made for a 72 Gremlin, I used Frisket paper to mask off the stripe.
bbowser Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Neat model, always cool when you can replicate one from your past.
shoopdog Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Very nice. As goofy as they were back in the day sure wouldn't mind having one now.
cobraman Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Cool little model. Almost bought a new one in 72 I think it was. A purple X.
restoman Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Pretty cool. I like it! I owned a '74 X, with a 304, speed on the floor. Peppy little bugger that surprised a lot of people.
geetee66 Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 That's cool! I like the white stripes. Definitely looks faster with them!
donb Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 A friend had one of these. It was Blue with white strips. It shook, rattled and rolled for sure. Great work on that kit. Bright color too.
espo Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Great looking build. I like the color, perfect for the era.
DumpyDan Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Really love the Gremlins, good looking build
vintagercr Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Nice clean build. My best friend in high school had one with the Levi interior.
JerseyRed Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 I've always loved the shape of these while not caring much for the machinery itself. The model looks good. You did a good job freehanding the stripes.
Mr mopar Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Very Cool .......I wonder why nobody ever made 72' decals?
Sixties Sam Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Very cool model! I remember seeing some Gremlins in that color. Yours looks good! Nice diorama, too!Sam
DrKerry Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Very kool, love the old AMC's. Have a 77 Hornet AMX hatchback myself.....
disabled modeler Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) Very nice..! Where did you find the small bumpers, etc. for it...? My late uncle owned one with those and id like to build a replica of it. Edited December 18, 2016 by disabled modeler
