DrKerry Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 When I was assembling this I cracked the body wide open on the drivers side so I shelved it. One day I decided to fix it so I started adding braces under the body and got it back in primer.. Similar to my truck Jimmy saw it and wanted it to cast so it went his way..... These are the first round pics. It has been re painted a darker color because I couldn't find the paint info on the lighter shade that it's in in these pics..... http://s2.photobucket.com/user/drkerry/library/Poncho-Mino?sort=2&page=1 You can see the crack just after the door in this pic... Resin copy that is being built now.... I also have another one being built as a mild kustom painted in blue....
landman Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Nice. So that's where the Jimmy Flintstone one came from? I've been ogling it for some time.Does it have a 421? And how did you achieve the "soft tire " look? I'll end up with an invoice for all the questions.
Snake45 Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Now that is just straight-up cool. I've seen a lot of Camino-versions that just didn't "work" visually, but for some reason this one really does. Well done and model on!
geetee66 Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Boy oh boy, you've got plenty of skills!I love these ponchos. I see you had trouble getting the top edge of the front bumper level. There's something about the way the parts fit there, which AMT missed. That really does look excellent though. Like it's factory.
espo Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I like that a lot. I'll have to get one of those bodies to use on the "62 Pontiacs I have stashed away.
Geno Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 That is way cool Kerry, I love those Tin Indians.
superbike-shaun Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Hey Doc,K,how did you do those very Realistic tires?

They are the solid rubber Firestone so they were pretty easy to cut.
DrKerry Posted December 25, 2016 Author Posted December 25, 2016 Thanks guys glad ya like it. I pretty much finished it up today just gotta put the mirror on it....
superbike-shaun Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Thank you,Doc, I was sitting here wondering, about how you achieved that realism, I just can't get over how Really,Real those Tires look!
Reeves Racing Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Great stuff as usual Kerry, but the left rear looks a little low to me...
mustang1989 Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Looks great Kerry. Everything about this build just "clicks".
DrKerry Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 Great stuff as usual Kerry, but the left rear looks a little low to me...Looks like I'll have to get the pressure gauge out tonight eh Mitch??!! LOL
DrKerry Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 Also she's done now.... A little darker green than before but none the less done again..... Follow the link below to the finished pics....
bisc63 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Agree with many others that this "just works"! Beautiful proportions make it look like a factory piece. I think the tail end is more attractive than any actual Elky.
