I wish for world peace.

There's peace right here, sometimes we see frustration, debate, harsh wording, but it's because we love this hobby, and love brings out the best in us, but sometimes the bad too.

Nothing wrong we're all passioned guys here discussing what unites us, everyone might not agree on certain topics, but what's wrong with that, nothing....and it would be a boring board and world if we would all think alike.

I was trying to make a funny, Luc.  I'd really rather have more model kits.

I know, just trying to tone down the discussion, cuz I can't hear the TV ;) (watching American Gangster...)

I am sure we can all find something on this list we like. Let us build.

Of course it would be nice with some new releases instead of just repops.

On the other hand, I returned to building 10 years ago, I've finished 59 kits since that and the only one I've done twice is the Hasegawa VW Van, so...... Since I've still got a whole bunch of models I've never built, I don't think that the lack of variety ever will make building boring (though you have to search for some kits on the second hand market, on the other hand, that's why repops can be great, right?)

Jesse, I noticed on your above list that. Revell of Germany is planning on bringing out a '76 Torino. I'm interested in seeing what color plastic they will mold it in. Hopefully white. More important I hope they fix the carb/air cleaner setup. That is main reason I've stayed away from the Starsky and Hutch version. I'd also like to see some factory wheel/wheel covers.

I doubt anything will be changed tooling wise, and that it also will be molded in red.

The only differences will be, Italian or Portuguese decals, instruction sheet and cardboard wrapper.

Thats too bad.

Was/is Starsky and Hutch popular in Europe? I am sure they are just going to push it through as is, sadly, and not change anything. But there is hope for white plastic.

Some data on the TV series

Some data on the movie

I was still a kid (8) in '76, but did catch some episodes, which aired on a Dutch TV station, cuz normally it was past my bed time...later I saw some episodes on French TV but they're always dubbed over in French, there.

That brings me to the TV show Hunter back in the 80s which was only on French TV (TF1) it wasn't until '89 that I heard Fred Dryer's real voice, and leaned his catch phrase wasn't "Sa marche pour moi", but "works for me"

I remember watching the Pilot Episode with my Uncle and I was totally hooked! The following year they showed it on Mexican Television and dubbed in Spanish, it was not the same. But luckily we received all the U.S. channels while living in Tijuana, Mexico

We where back in the USA when Hunter came on. Loved that show and I always wanted a SPAS 12 shotgun because of it!

They're probably the most hella-cool looking shotguns ever made, but I read too many test-fires where they didn't seem to work all that well, and decided to stick with the time-tested Rem 870. B)

One of the biggest problems with it was that folks where using light bird shot loads with not enough power to cycle the weapon properly. Either way, it is a pretty wicked piece.

So back to models!

I am looking forward to the re-release of the Hasegawa Datsun Rally Cars. I only managed a couple when they first came out and I would like to get a couple more of them.

Wow, absolutely nothing. Those Barris kits are still easy to find from the last issue. I guess they are trying to cash in on anything with his name while they can.

Totally agree, I can't see the The Ice Cream Truck selling in big numbers at all..Boring ..

I'm still haven't built some "new kits" of the 90ies so I won't complaint about the lack of new kits from AMt/MPC......;)

Yeah sometimes you wait with much anticipation on a new release, and then when you have it, it ends up on the shelf and the next time you pick it, ten or more years have past, scary ;)

Doesn't matter if you buy or not, I always think it's odd people post what they're not doing. Like posting what you aren't ordering for dinner. Whoopee!

The same old complaints about re-issues, then posting about not buying enough issues of a Hasegawa kit. Okay then. And it doesn't seem like I or anyone else has gone "nuts" over your post. We've all read them over and over and over.

Round 2 is killing the market for Sci-fi.  Those guys pay full sticker fairly often, and are picky. Technically, our reissues and their reissues are paying for the new sci-fi issues and cars secondarily. A business that gets purchased has to pay for itself, then re-invest in profitable product. I'd rather have Wilhelm's Wonder than the Ice Cream Truck, but it's been reissued more than the Drag boat, or lots of other known tools. Sorry, they know the real market, and own the tools.

Keep hating on reissues and Round 2/whatever spins your crank. Provides me and others with amusement, just like wanting all new issues but 40% off immediately.

And how dare those Yuropeens get the S&H Torino shoved down their throats...comedy gold, dude, comedy gold.

Ha, just saw a post about a new tool that had bumps on the rotors, and you said it wasn't an issue...Bwahahahahahahaha. More comedy gold.

Were they ever! Probably the most popular American duo in Germany after Laurel and Hardy.
At least for my generation, they are a staple of popular culture.
They were dubbed of course, but quite a few of their (German) expressions made it into common
lingo.

Especially their "Tomate mit Hosenträgern" (tomato with suspenders) is popular enough for the
paint scheme having found its way onto many cars that aren't Torinos.

That's awesome! LOL! I always wanted to do it to my Dad's Plymouth Duster, but he said no!

Ha, now that you show that, I do remember a Renault (think it was a R12) in the village where I grew up with the S&H paint scheme..

That's interesting. I was a moderately big S&H fan back in the day, and I don't remember a single one of their "catchphrases" ever catching on with anyone, ever, here in the states. Closest I can think of is, if someone's wearing some outlandishly flamboyant get-up, you call them "Huggy Bear," which can still get a laugh to this day.

("Hutch" carried a 6" Colt Python .357, which is now an iconic gun on the current #1 show on TV, The Walking Dead. Some things never go out of style.)

Same over here in the Netherlands, near the town I grew up around. Of all things, it was a Opel Ascona... But it made it look rather nifty with the S&H colors.
