I can relate. It was a high yesterday of about 15.  It was 9  friday nite when the wife and i  went out for dinner

My brother in law in southern Az sent me a pic yesterday of his thermometer .....at 73.

We are already planning a move there in 2018.....but these temps makes me want to move NOW

This morning it was 40 outside...that's COLD for southwest Florida.

This morning it was 42 INSIDE my place, 14 outside. The house is under seemingly perpetual renovation, no central heat, insulation incomplete, and I only run one space-heater at night.

Right now, the model bench is the warmest spot in here, with a nice little electric heater under it.   :D

They have an expression in Kansas, "If you don't like the weather wait a day or two". Just since New Years we have had over night temps from at or below 0 with highs in the teens. The weather geeks on TV are saying that by Wednesday we'll have highs above 55 before we dive back into the deep freeze. One minute you're enjoying a glass of wine on the deck in the evening and the next you're throwing seed out the back door for the poor birds. Well we're just a few months away from complaining about the hot summer so there's that to look forward to.

I suspect that expression is prevalent everywhere.

In Minnesota the quote is, "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute".

Not sure what the current temp is at the moment here, but rest assured, it's cold!

Looking forward to a heat wave over the next couple of days where it could reach the low 20s!

Wait till July when it's 118! Or August when the humidity rolls in and it's 110 with 30%. I can't imagine what 9 is like.

Upstate SC got a rare snowstorm Friday night.  I was looking outside around 9 PM and saw it change from rain, to sleet, finally to big puffy snowflakes.  A lot of that snow is still on the ground, here on Tuesday morning.  I thought the local rug-rats had built a weird snowman in front of my house.  But looking closer, they built a snow-dinosaur. Which looks pretty neat.

For the basement modeling room, I recently bought this Acu-Rite combo thermometer/hygrometer at Wal-Mart. Price was $8.49.  When planning to paint, it's good seeing the humidity in the room at a glance.  The basement is mostly unheated, but the temp stays pretty stable at around 60 degrees even on cold days. And I use a small heater if it's really chilly:
