ss2000 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Are the 3 Heller construction vehicles the old Lindberg kits?
Don Sikora II Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Are the 3 Heller construction vehicles the old Lindberg kits?Yes.
oldcarfan Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Anyone know what scale the Airfix QuickBuild kits are and if they are accurate?
ZTony8 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Hmmm. They must do things differently over in Europe vis a vis product announcements. I saw several of those kits in the hobby shop today here in Michigan.
niteowl7710 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Hmmm. They must do things differently over in Europe vis a vis product announcements. So this is more about suppliers and vendors meeting and showing wares than it really is product announcements and whatnot.
The Creative Explorer Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 It's a showcase, about the company and it's products. There will be new releases and other new stuff. And where I could've selected only pictures of new stuff, I decided to mix it with the unusual stuff.
Rob Hall Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Woo..that Ebbro Citroen food truck looks so cool.
Junkman Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 The Talbot-Lago Record reissue announcement just made my day.
GeeBee Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 The Talbot-Lago Record reissue announcement just made my day.and mine, I've emailed Heller a few times requesting they release this one, I even posted the same on their Facebook page, I bought a second hand on last week, luckily I only paid £13 for it
GeeBee Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Nice to see the old Esci Renault 5 re-released, now I can make a model of my old Gordini, hopefully I can find someone who can make up the decals for it
Junkman Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Oooh, new tool 500 and ESCI Escort reissue exactly when I need it.
keyser Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 934's are supposed to be "new tools" but they look like the Esci kits. The display models are missing the wing extension of the 1:1, I don't remember if the Esci had that or not. With Tamiya's 934, why would anyone go up against that?

With Tamiya's 934, why would anyone go up against that? The Tamiya kits are also very basic 50 piece curbsides from 30+ years ago, and these are full detail and of course being aimed at a European audience. They clearly made the required profit off their Mini Cooper and VW Beetle kits that were ever so slight variations on existing Tamiya kits.
keyser Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I don't ever remember a 1/24 934 back then. I've got all the original 935/935-78/936 kits, but all they had for 934 was the big scale car. Really, the new Tamiya is a simple kit? I haven't popped one yet, so good to know. I've got an Esci from ages ago, Jagermeister. Not bad for age, but I'd pop for better. Hmmm. 991 GT3 RS or 991 GT3? Nah.

Nah. Here are the kit contents. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10215269/10/0 Similar to other efforts by Tamiya to repackage old kids in new boxes (this has new P/E), like the Gr. 5 Capri that's an old motorized kit that for reissued the same year. Or the various "new" Porsche 956 with new liveries over the years, but that kit was tooled up in 1984.
keyser Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Gag. My bad for thinking this was new Tamiya tool. I'd never seen it ages ago. I didn't even consider checking the instructions at the vendors. Misplaced Tamiya trust. Old Esci not bad for what is is. Thanks for the awakening link.
Junkman Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 With Tamiya's 934, why would anyone go up against that?Because there are absolutely no other subjects to tool up.None. Nada. Zilch. Njet. Nichts. Rien.

Pretty sure the Jägermeister version was first released in 2013. The old Esci 934 might still be available from Heller...somehow the mold ended top with them.
Mike999 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Nice to see the old Esci Renault 5 re-released, now I can make a model of my old Gordini, hopefully I can find someone who can make up the decals for it Don't know if this might be cheaper or not. But the old ESCI R5 Police Car seems to have a Gordini-Alpine lurking in the box. It has the special wheels, complete with the tiny Alpine "A" on the tiny hubcaps. It also has the "hemi" engine (with sparkplugs on top of the cylinder head, not entering thru the side.) I found all this out when I went researching the Police Car. They used the standard steel wheels. And those are 3-bolt Renault wheels, so it isn't easy to find a replacement in the ol' parts box. Think I have a solution by patching in the outer rim of some Subaru steel wheels and leaving the 3 lug part alone. At least the Subaru wheels have 6 cooling slots, like the Renault standard wheels.
