cpspoogie Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Ive had the Visible Man and Woman kits for some time, waiting for an idea to make something unique. Yesterday I found the Visible Horse at a yard sale, and it came to me...make a Visible Centaur! It's complicated and challenging, but fun. Starting pics and reference photo:
vintagedragcrazy Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Now that's crazy buddy!!!! Can't wait to see it when it's done!vince
Scott Colmer Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Wild. That's taking kit bashing to a new level. I'll be watching.
CometMan Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 And I've been told that model builders have no imagination! Awesome idea!

cpspoogie Posted November 14, 2017 Author Posted November 14, 2017 Finally got back to this project while I’m waiting on my Wen MAC Mustang Conversion to cure.
unclescott58 Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Interesting and cool. A very neat idea.
cpspoogie Posted November 15, 2017 Author Posted November 15, 2017 Final stages...he will have a clear mane of hair coming down his back to hide the seams.
BIGTRUCK Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 Thats wild...definitely something I never seen done.
cpspoogie Posted November 16, 2017 Author Posted November 16, 2017 Idea has evolved from a mane to tentacles. This is air dry clay that will be painted alternating clear red and blue to match the veins and arteries. I will add many more. Will be different and very easily hide the seams.
cpspoogie Posted November 17, 2017 Author Posted November 17, 2017 First layer of veins/arteries/tentacles on and painted.
Lunajammer Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Okay, this is right up there with the most out of the box ideas I've seen. Challenging too, to convince viewers how the centaur works. Bravo.

unclescott58 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 I never really though about this before. A problem I see with a real centaur, is the way it's designed. Just to fill up the body cavities it would need two sets of organs. Just like your model shows, Chris. How practical is this design in real life? Not very. But being a mythological creature, practically really doesn't matter in the long run. This is brought up in no way to criticize your model Chris. It's great! It just got me thinking. I'm sorry. I can't help it!All those organs, and only one..... Okay, I better quit.
unclescott58 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Oh. P.S. I'm sorry. But, the one thing I don't like on your model are the tentacles. I think they distract from your model. Rather than ad anything to it. They're to busy. If it's to hide seams, I wouldn't worry about that. No matter how you built the the original kits, there are going to be seams. And they look fine from what I'm seeing of your kit.
cpspoogie Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 That’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it Thanks. It’s creativity, it’s my form of art and my idea Thankfulky creativity has no rules and doesn’t have to please everyone. Pete Townshend was once asked why he smashed his perfectly good guitars after a show He said “Because it’s my (expletive) guitar.” ‘Nuff said Oh. P.S. I'm sorry.
