Plan To Repair Harry's Threads

For Harry's threads...

Moderators have rights to edit anyone's threads.  Can they put a new password on Harry's account,  or create a special Moderator ID that can go in and insert the photos into the threads?

It seems like a daunting task, but note that NNL East is a ton of work and happens because there are 40 people involved.  This can be a similar effort. If we each take a few threads, we could do this in no time at all.  I think time is of the essence, because we don't know what P-bucket's next step is. The pictures could be gone completely if we don't act!

First, we will need to create a list of the affected threads and links to them.  That will tell us how big an effort this will be.  Then we would need volunteers who are trustworthy and can work quickly.

Once this effort is complete, we can access further damage.  For instance, we can look for threads by others who are deceased.  Note that this is Photo Bucket today, but other services have come and gone over the years.  Back in the early 2000s there was a photo service most people used that just disappeared overnight. For awhile we had that worry with Fotki when they went through a troubling time.  You are at risk anytime you depend on a service.

And I'd be honored to help with this effort.

I'm looking into the possibility of downloading Harry's pictures from Photobucket and hosting them here. The, ahem, people at Photobucket aren't making that easy. I hope they understand that when I see that company on their resume, it's going straight into the trash.

anyone check with Amy for his password & other info & other possible storage sites? there a community build dedicated th Harry, I've posted one there he gave advise on restoring bumpers for.

Dave has already said he'd removed the photo storage quotas that have been in effect here, and let folks upload to THIS site directly. Pretty nice gesture. Harry, of course, isn't in a position to do that.

I'll be leaving my own images on PB for the short term, or until they shut down my paid account, and reloading images here starting with tutorials, and then build threads as I pull each one out and actually make some progress on it.
