Argh! I know all about Different Strokes and all that, but that is one Butt Ugly Car now!

Not Quite a Rat, but Not finished either. I'll be glad when this Fad passes.

All the roasted rods lately and the models to go with just make me think they don't know how to do a gloss clean paint job anymore.

I admire the smooth gloss jobs with great trim work and glass, those are hard to get perfect. I make weathered kits all the time, it's far easier to beat something up and use flat paints, etc.

The Jeep Honcho "Ice Patrol" is interesting considering the Revell Chevy kit is 1/25, that would make that snowmobile out of scale.

If what's in the box is the 1/25 Revell Jeep Honcho pickup with the 1/25 Revell Arctic Cat snowmobile from the "Ice Patrol" kit included, everything should match up scale-wise. Hopefully the snowmobile returns with some truck kit, as it's been a looooong time (197...9?) since it's been available.

Still no 1/25 Monogram Chevy S-10, though. -_-

Now that Revell has the stock 70 Charger coming out, I would rather see a 69 Charger 500 (with the recall wheels) than a re-issue of the 70 Daytona. That would complete all 68 through 70 Chargers. While they are it tooling the correct 500 grille, use that grill and put a new 68 Coronet R/T or Super bee.behind it.

While I'm at it begging,  I really wish they come out with a very accurate 70-71 Challenger and just bite the bullet. Just sayin!

Good to see the Honcho back. I've been wanting to convert one of these to the military version for years, and every time this kit comes around I miss it. Got to remember to get one this time!

Now if Revell REALLY wanted to do something, they would update the Eliminator to how it current looks, rather than it's 1980s video fame.

Look up the video for the "new" (2012) ZZTop song "I Gotsa Get Paid" to see it, along with 3 other rat style hot rods and some pretty girls driving around in the Mohave.

That is Billy Gibbon's Whiskey Runner, not the Eliminator coupe. Both are cool cars!

looking at what Revell is coming out with ,it's pretty sad that this model company is missing the mark .

by now they should have done a 68' coronet R/T and 69' Coronet R/T and 71'-72' Demon 340 .

and there's nothing for TD kits ? why the 69' Daytona why not a Charger 500 easy change . come on Revell

Leave the reisusses to round 2 .

The Tom Daniel kits seem to be losing momentum...I've seen the last couple of them (Jinx Express, Vandal) on clearance.  Maybe they're reaching a saturation point...

The trouble with that snowmobile is that it represents something from the mid 70's and is nothing like a modern machine. Would be nice to see again but if I were to get one it would be weathered and left in a diorama somewhere.

It makes sense with the Honcho, though..  Not a modern truck either.

The Tom Daniel kits 'slowing down' is due in part they re-issue the same ones over and over. Bill Lastovich was the last PM that saw value in the kits. But they were kits not seen in many years. The TD Dog Catcher was on the schedule but was dropped. Horn Toad is another that would be a good one to re-issue. Lack of sales is more to do with the kits picked than the category.

I think maybe Revell or Tower Hobbies got things mixed up, don't remember them putting the snowmobile in the Jeep kit, although it could be a ploy to drive sales of a kit (Jeep Honcho) that might not be a big seller otherwise. I have been known to fall for Revell's marketing scams, how else do you explain buying 10 of those GMC pickups with the snowplow????????

Actually, I don't think it has been announced that the snowmobile will be with the Jeep kit...all it says on Tower Hobbies is '1980 Jeep Honcho Ice Patrol'...could be just new decals..  the snowmobile was with the old Ice Patrol Chevy pickup kit.

Most of the TD stuff is so strange and out there I would think they would appeal to a very small market niche, and maybe they have oversaturated the market...

Doug: My sentiments exactly! Most of the tooling for the Charger 500 is there, just body mods and grill. Same for the Coronets, all the guts are tooled just body and interior need to be mastered. The Demon would be a winner since Round 2 is stuck in an abyss without any plans for newly tooled kits but they can use the Duster tooling.

Revell's 09 Challenger kit is very long in the tooth and badly needs an update to a Hellcat or Demon (but they are stuck on Camaros, not that there is anything wrong with that, but give Mopars an equal focus)!  I hope Sexton is looking at these forum threads! If I am a marketing and product manager at Revell, I'd be looking to bury my competition. They have no problem filling the gaps with Chevys!

As for Round 2, their retro boxes are OK but their kits are same old same, big deal! They have been missing the boat for years with their 57 Chrysler 300 and 58 Plymouth kits. Easily use the tooling for a 57/58 Desoto Adventurer or 59 Plymouth Fury/Dodge Coronet. Update the 68/69 GTX/Road Runner kits to an accurate 70 version. Seeing how the prices are for the old JoHan Mopar kits, they should be jumping all over it.

Revell hasn't done a Camaro update in years ('13 ZL1 was the last), so I wouldn't say they are stuck on them.   I'd love to see them do a Hellcat and a Demon, but they don't seem to be willing to spend money on modern subjects beyond simple snap kits like the Mustangs, etc.

I stand corrected, I was really thinking Round 2 AMT for the current generation Camaro!

I bought the two I mentioned (Jinx Express, Vandal) even though I wasn't into the TD stuff back in the day.  I've got a few of them now, though.  Those two hadn't been out in their original form in quite some time.  The one that I think would really sell would be the Quicksilver version of the '60 Chevy sedan delivery.  I've got enough stuff to piece one together, but that one seems to be hard to find.

Someone who knows about these things once told me that the Tom Daniel and Ed Roth stuff was, for Revell-Monogram, as close as it gets to being able to print money.  Maybe that's slowing down a bit, as I saw the Revell Surfite kit (the recent issue, with the figure) on closeout too.  They might need to space the reissues out a bit more.

"Easily" would hang heavily on whether or not alternate versions are designed in at the beginning.

What out-of-production kits sell for on eBay, or at shows, really doesn't have any bearing on how well a new kit of the same subject would sell.  It only shows that X number of people want a particular kit, and will outbid one another to get it.  A lot of those people only want the original, and wouldn't buy the new one anyway.

I don't recall that the snowplow was ever in a Revell kit. The only kits I have seen with a snowplow were the old MPC Jeep kits from 1969/70.

I'm thinking that maybe someone got their wires crossed with the Jeep kit calling it Ice Patrol. Who knows, maybe we will get a kit with a snowplow and a snowmobile!
