DumpyDan Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 (edited) Sweet looking ride, what years was that in Street Rodder Magazine? I guess I should read before asking any question Edited July 29, 2017 by DumpyDan
mod3l Lover Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 What is the color you used on this? It looks kindalike a gold color, but sometimes it's hard to tell inphotos because of lighting, etc.! Should be a very cool build though. David S.
jeff f Posted July 29, 2017 Author Posted July 29, 2017 Dan , Sept . 1974 . I was 17 . It was painted by the late Larry Watson in pearl pinnapple and candy cantaloupe , for real ! 70s street freaks !
fordf-100 Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Thats awesome! I have always liked the gasser style street machines! If you gat a chance please post some pictures of the chassis and engine!

Oldschool4x4 Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Very cool. but then I like anything 70's with the rears sticking out.. What are your rear Cragars from?
Curt Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Is that young lady handing that lucky dog a can of "Rocky Mountain Cool Aid" ?? Sure looks like it. That was a rare treat east of the Mississippi back then...
Super28 Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Nice built. Where did you get the rear wheels from?
ChrisBcritter Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 (edited) And if you want to see the car in action: They used a double for the last scene; too bad it was a real '56 Nomad as well! (Might make an interesting diorama if you could find a '73 Chevy longbed pickup kit...) Edited July 29, 2017 by ChrisBcritter
espo Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Sure looks like it. That was a rare treat east of the Mississippi back then...I was spoiled and didn't realize it at that time, I was living in southern California and Coors was the Brew of choice at the time.
jeff f Posted July 31, 2017 Author Posted July 31, 2017 I just got the second color on . I used AMT 70 chev lmpala cragars and made aluminum deep rims . Lots of BMF to do . Thanks for looking Jeff . Oh sept . 74 Street Rodder .
Super28 Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) What did you thin the paint with. (Just gettin' started. try to learn) Edited July 31, 2017 by Super28
jeff f Posted August 1, 2017 Author Posted August 1, 2017 Terry I used Testors airbrush thinner . Shot the scoop with One Shot pure gold to match the front super tricks . The turn signal amber really pops in the sun , looks in scale also . Now to let it dry for a week or two . Thanks for your time Jeff .
Little Timmy Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Those colors just scream, DON'T MESS WITH ME ! Nice job on the paint. I will be following along to see the final result.
Alix Bernard Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Any progress Jeff? I saw this in Street Rodder also......wickedly cool!!!!!
