donb Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 The AMT 71 Thunderbird is a very simplistic kit but it makes a great curbside. So that's how I built it. Nothing too fancy. Duplicolor Gray Metallic. Duplicolor primer interior. Shave the side marker and Thunderbird emblems. Cleared with Duplicolor Clear and buffed out. Pegasus wheels and lowered slightly. Used customer headlight covers from the kit. Pretty happy with the results. Since being photographed I added drivers side mirror and license plate. Comments welcome.
disabled modeler Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Nice..! Sometimes the simple ones are the best.
Dodge Driver Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I think your T-bird is neat. I like the subtle changes and the wheels suit the car perfectly.
RestoModGuy Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Looks real nice. I too built this kit as a simple curbside, just not that nice of a kit to spend a lot of effort doing a detail build.

wayne swayze Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Very sharp! The wheels are very suitable. I like it!
shoopdog Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 That turned out really well, was this the recent kit with the crazy decals?
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Nice look. I think this is my favorite style of T-Bird.
Daddyfink Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Proof that this kit can be built to look cool! Nice job!

ChrisR Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Looks great, but personally I prefer an older style wheels.
