Got started on mine, its going to be painted in BMW Steel Blue

Getting the body ready for painting, there were a few mold/seem lines that I could find, and they were very faint.


And the chassis painted up

Looks great so far. Is the colour a modern BMW shade, or vintage?

That was the factory color of my 76. My wife's was originally brown, I repainted it Massey Ferguson grey metallic. I happened to work for them at the time...

It's occurred to me that a close approximation of the correct engine could be sourced from the Revell 320i kit, along with the engine compartment. They're very similar. Just thinking out loud.

So far, builds real nice, no issues, yes, the interior door panels are blank.

Chassis is pretty much done, just need to add the tow hook.

Mock up, wheels painted, I still need to strip the chrome from the center cap and then paint those.  Body wet sanded and ready for a final coat of paint.  Started work on the interior

Clear coated the body,  need to let cure for about 24 hours and then will start the fun part, all the trim

Hey Jonathan,love the finish of the paint! My freinds  dad owned one of these ( in 1.1) it was that crappy beige (tan).fun,car though!
