Dave B Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I love Maserati's and when I was able to pick up 2 body/chassis pans and 2 sets of resin tyres I could not refuse!! I had to make the windscreen mould and vacform them but everything else required (Herb Deeks photo etched wires, styrene rod for chassis, seats, steering wheels etc where in the parts boxes). I decided to model chassis number 2467, originally sold to Frank Harrison (driven by Carrol Shelby), and subsequently crashed at the Bahamas Speed Week,. It was then sold less engine to Don Skogmo who fitted a Hilborn injected 4.7L Ford motor and had considerable success in regional races. This is my interpretation of 2467, I know neither is exact!! Tks for looking Dave B
TarheelRick Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I have always liked the Birdcage Maserati and you have built a couple of real beauties. What scale are these? I had one of these as a 1/32 slot car back in the 60's.
curt raitz Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Looks like they are from "Aardvarks" (Andy Martin). Great resin kits, but no longer obtainable! A dentist friend in Albuquerque had me build bunch of'em...
Gramps46 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 I think you nailed the look of 2467 Dave. Outstanding!
Phildaupho Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Great seeing two birdcages together. I really like the look of the stacks poking out of the hood on #30
Dave B Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 Tks guys. Ricky, they are 1/24. Curt, you are correct, a mate pulled a couple for me from his unbuilt Aardvark kit.Dave B
