zenrat Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 (edited) This one fought me all the way and then the decals declared UDI and joined the rebellion. So I did the best I could with bits & pieces of left over NASCAR sheets. 2009-03-09 at 14-21-55 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr 2009-03-09 at 13-25-34 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr 2009-03-09 at 13-23-25 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr Trans Am Mustang WIP 23-11-08 01 by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr Edited October 21, 2017 by zenrat
bbowser Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 That's the kind of crazy I like. Meanwhile, if Group 5 is related close enough, this is another design I bookmarked. The guy at DeviantArt does quite a few, if you rummage through his gallery. Another one I can't unsee!

Can-Con Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 (edited) This is my old AMT "Monza SS" on it's second rebuild circa 1982. Painted with leftover '76 Corvette red enamel I used on my '73 Buick Centurion I painted that year. Inspiration came from a car that was in either Custom Rodder or Hot Rod magazine that year. That's where I got the idea for the aluminum section in the rear wing. It had a small block with quad Webers. I think about redoing it every now'n then but don't know if I can get the thick 35 year old paint off. Edited October 22, 2017 by Can-Con
Dann Tier Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 Not sure if this is crazy but here goes. What I think is AMAZING, is that you were actually able to properly paint those taillights!!!!!!!......the detail on them is faint, let alone trying to paint the red AFTER the whole piece has already been "filled-in" with body color.

XJ6 Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Ok I have to ask what does IMSA stand for?....Sure I knew at one time..lol

magicmustang Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 (edited) Did this 10 years ago, still waiting on better decals (had to make my own). Have the USAirfix Cobra II in the "to finish" stash. Have the decal sheet for it but not the motivation, yet. Edited December 27, 2017 by magicmustang

Jon Cole Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 This is the one that trips my trigger! A 914 GT2 in the "hippy" paint scheme! Thanks JC for sharing.
RancheroSteve Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Not as crazy as some of them, but it is an IMSA car:
