Hi all, new here. This is the first kit I've built since my childhood. My dad asked me to build a replica of his real car, so here it is. My first attempt at wet sanding and using compounds to achieve a shine on a model kit and also my first attempt at bare metal foiling. Feedback welcome.

Very nice, and I like the way you painted the stripes on the cowl vents. Lotta guys ignore that little detail.

Since you said feedback welcome, you missed one detail. All RS Camaros included Style Trim Group, which means chrome trim around the wheel openings. Revell molded this in. It's an easy fix at this point with a Silver Sharpie. (I use them for this and window trim all the time and just love them.)

But still, overall, very nicely done! Model on! B)

Thanks for all the kind words guys. Regarding the wheel arch mouldings I am aware that all RS cars had these, however as I was replicating my dad’sreal life car I left them off for now. Can always add them later if he adds them to his car. As for the paint, it’s actually Hugger Orange, my crappy phone pics just make it look more red than it actually is.

I knew that!B) It's a problem in 1:1 world, too. Real restored '69 Camaros and Chevelles in Hugger/Monaco Orange often look bright red in magazines. But the real '69 Chevy Garnet Red was actually fairly dark. So...if you're looking at a restored '69 Chevy in a mag and can't tell if it's red or orange, it's Orange. If it's Garnet Red, it'll be very apparent.

First build since childhood and you got those white stripes to lie down perfectly on that hood!  After my own frustrating experiences with those stripes, my hat's off to you.  Well done.

Great details and very shiny paint, I would say you did well! It helps the motivation when you have the 1:1 close by as inspiration. Welcome back to the hobby and I am sure you will do just as well on your next build.
