In addition to Les Ritchey's '63 lightweight Super Stock Galaxie, I will be building this one along side.   Dearborn Steel Tubing (DST) built this really cool truck for B/FX competition.  It was powered by the same Super Stock 427 cu.in. 425 HP engine that powered the lightweight Galaxie's.  This is the only one know to exist.  This build will be somewhat challenging as it will require some scratch building and kit bashing to get the details as accurate as possible.  Challenging - yes, doable - you bet!   This one is going to be fun!

This should be interesting to watch. I remember when this truck was featured in Hot Rod Magazine and others. I never figured out why the roof was painted Flat Black.

I wish Round2 could re-issue the 61 to 63 pickups...specially the 63 with the overhead camper top.  I have a few from my dads old collection id like to restore...plus you know they would sell like hotcakes.

You might want to also look at the May issue of Car Craft magazine. Inside of the back cover is a picture of this truck on the starting line at a Drag Strip. There're some differences in the lettering than the picture of the truck in it's current state. This would be common on any Race Car. The picture shows a right rear quarter view of the truck and shoes the Stu Wilson Ford sponsorship on the right rear quarter panel.

Anyone know who cast the resin body?

Pretty involved project to make the corrections on an existing longbox.

Yeah, that is a cool looking truck! No action here since Jan 2018, and his last post on the forum was May 2020. I hope he’s still OK, and just taking a break.

Not as tough to make your own shortbox as I thought...
