Sledsel Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Started with the Rides Magazine truck and ended up with a short bed street machine
Renegade Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 Good looking truck .Very nice engine bay. I like those wheels better than the kit wheels.
mikemodeler Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Very nice, I have one waiting to be completed! Love those wheels, among my most favorites!
espo Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Very clean looking build. Makes me wish we could see the interior also. Extensive engine room detailing. Did the Air Conditioning Compressor and all of the hoses come in the kit or did you create all of that ??

As for the AC, the kit had the compressor on the belt assembly and just looked "off" with nothing else, so I decided to add some detail. Everything was made to fit, although probably not factory correct. I am more of a Ford guy and went with what I knew
espo Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 The interior looks great. I agree that AMT didn't really pay attention to the way GM would have had the A/C compressor positioned, but you made it all look good anyway.
DumpyDan Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Nicely done, just want to get in it and drive away
Sledsel Posted February 10, 2018 Author Posted February 10, 2018 Thanks for the compliments. I cheated a bit underneath it, I cut where everything lined up the best. It is a shelf model, and to me looks good there, although, the bed has become a storage spot for small parts I wish to keep track of.
thatz4u Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 nice work, Andy, love the color, style, everthing about it
89AKurt Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 The third Classic Chevy pickup I've seen tonight, I'm getting jealous that some are building this subject. I like the wheels you used much better too. Good to know about engine detail, just in case I get this kit.
Can-Con Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Looks really good Andy. Good call on the wheel swap. Looks much better than the ones shown on the box. But, I hate to tell you this since you went to so much work with it but I don't think that's supposed to be an air conditioning compressor, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be the smog pump for the emission control system. But, hey, it could be the AC compressor, they don't look that much different.
