fix light scratches in windshields

how do you fix light scratches in windshields.

 

some of my older kits didnt have the glass pieces in separate bags so they are scratched from rubbing the plastics against it

I use micro mesh polishing pads, followed by Tamiya fine and finish polishing compound, followed by Tamiya wax. Start with the finest micro mesh pad that will efficiently do the job and go from there.

Meguires has a product called Plastx for 1:1 headlight and tail light scratches and it also works well on our plastics. You can find it at most any auto supply outlet, 10 fl. oz. should last a life time.

Fingernail polishing sticks work GREAT for me. Or Wright's Silver Cream.

You can order these or pick the up at a local beauty supply store like Sally' s. It's a 3 way nail polishing file, you'll want to keep one clean for just polishing windshields so it diesnt get other schmoo on it. Their other files work great as well, l go there a couple times a year and get $25 or so worth if files.

Aircraft builders will dip there canopies in Pledge Floor Care or whatever it is called this week. (Used to be Future).

Ive done this with EXCELLENT results

 

This one had some light scratches in it. Dipped it in Future and nothing else. I was impressed
