mrmike Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 (edited) This is my Tamiya Jaguar Mk. II Saloon painted with Polly Scale CSX Blue with several coats of Tamiya TS-13 Clear and a Tamiya AS-25 Dark Ghost Grey interior. Edited May 5, 2018 by mrmike
bbowser Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 That's a beauty! This kit has some of the nicest wire wheels I've seen.
aurfalien Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Hi, Wow, a wonderful build of a wonderful subject matter. Very very cool!
Lovefordgalaxie Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 It resulted very nice. The color suits the car very well, and those wire wheels are some of the very best I've seen out of a kit.
espo Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Magnificent looking. I followed your build on this beauty and it turned out perfect.
Anglia105E Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Your Jaguar MK II build has turned out beautifully Michael, and that is a really nice shade of blue. Excellent work on the interior and the engine too. This is probably one of the nicest kits that Tamiya have produced, along with the Morgan 4/4 which has the same wheels and tyres. I should imagine you enjoyed working on this one Michael, and I certainly did. One feature I decided upon was to leave the driver's side door window fully lowered, so that the dashboard detail can be fully appreciated. Did you manage to mate up the front pipes of the exhaust system to the exhaust manifold? ( I did not.... I'm ashamed to admit ! ) David
Phildaupho Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Jolly good! Have one in my stash that I hope to build someday.

The downside of my build is an errant dog hair found its way into the interior of the Jag and is visible through the right rear passenger window and I noticed it after the interior and chassis was installed the glue had dried. It's now there permanently... Thanks everyone! Edited May 6, 2018 by mrmike
Anglia105E Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Unless this model Jaguar was entered in some sort of competition event. I don't think many people would notice the dog hair, but of course now you know it's there.... The precise fit of the body and chassis thanks to Tamiya was mainly why I did not glue the two parts together, and in fact none of my builds have glued on bodies, because I always like to lower the body onto the chassis and then it can be lifted off if I need to get at something.... like a dog hair! David
1972coronet Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Stunning Jag there , Mike ! One of your finest pieces to date !
mrmike Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 I generally glue my bodies to the chassis so they don't come apart during handing at shows or at club meetings. I had a model come apart at a club meeting and the chassis hit the floor. Don't want that to happen again! Thank you John!
GlueTube Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Looks good. I have the same kit in my stash.....any issues putting on the side belt line chrome moldings? Regards Brian Kroon

I seem to drop parts of model cars to the floor on a regular basis. Better safe than sorry, I guess! David

Yes, the metal transfers wouldn't stick, so I used Bare Metal Foil instead.
Eric Macleod Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 I agree with the others here. This is a great model, very well presented and in a great color scheme.
spencer1984 Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Nicely done! I also have one of these to get to some day...
Ron Hamilton Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 I say there ol' bean. Jolly good build there. The queen would be proud.
mrmike Posted May 10, 2018 Author Posted May 10, 2018 Why, thank you ol' chap! Mighty kind of you to say so.
