KJ790 Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 I think this is close enough to finished. AMT California hauler and AMT Fruehauf trailer with a few modifications.
Spruslayer Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 That is one realistic build Awesome photography too Got any engine detail shots? Love he plumed ref unit
1959scudetto Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 Suddenly it's 1968 again.... A very nice truck - looks like one back in the day in some of my trucking books ... Very period correct - I especially like the wheels and tires (front hubs !), the paint scheme and the reefer on the trailer. Did you use the grill from a Revell Germany Pete? The sunvisor is scratch-built?

I do not have any engine shots at the moment, I will try to get some later. 41 minutes ago, 1959scudetto said: Suddenly it's 1968 again.... I did a slight black wash on the radiator to make the louvers stand out.
Force Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 Very nice and realistic model indeed. The only thing I find that could have been done a bit different is the track of the front axle...it looks a bit wide for center point steering and could have been slightly narrower for it to look perfect. But that doesn't take anything away from your build as it's very very nice and are up there among the best I've seen so far.
drinkone2 Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Nice work KJ! That Bill Bedell photo is my wallpaper on my work computer. You nailed it right down to the Markel decal on the trailer. Jim
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Very impressive!! You just have a gift for capturing that vintage look! Excellent work as always!! I really like what you've done with the front wheels!!!

Hermann Kersten Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Great model and very nicely executed. The center point steering is a very nice detail. Hermann.
Brutalform Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Difficult to tell if it’s real or a model... outstanding work!!

extmcdriver Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Super job on the Pete. This is a great example of an early 70's truck!!!!
