SawgrassRaven Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 (edited) I actually built two of these; the other I gave to Buddy Guy and sits at Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago. And with the old parts, I built this. Edited May 23, 2018 by SawgrassRaven
RancheroSteve Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Big Howlin' Wolf fan here, but I didn't know about this car. Great idea for a build, and fine execution!
Phildaupho Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Looks to me like you built three unless the rusty derelict started as one of the shinny black versions. Very cool.

Great idea for a build, and fine execution! Thanks! To my knowledge, this is the only pic of the car that exists; it's mentioned in "Moanin' at Midnight: The Life and Times of Howlin' Wolf" by James Segrest and Mark Hoffman. Excellent book, highly recommended for any Wolf fan. https://www.amazon.com/Moanin-Midnight-Life-Times-Howlin/dp/1560256834
LDO Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 There's a new subdivision in Austin with a Howlin' Wolf street. I believe there is also a Stevie Ray and Muddy Waters street in the same subdivision. Cool models, btw.
Bill J Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Really cool! Chester Burnett was always one of my favorite blues artists! I miss the good old blues music. I listen to the blues on the radio as often as possible. Howlin' Wolf's car is awesome, nicely done!
bondo bill Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I get the blues looking at it all rusted. Cool concept and execution!
peekay Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Great idea for a model and very well done too. (Big blues/r&b fan here.)
Oldcarfan27 Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Is the junker based on how the actual car exists later on in life? Or is it just your interpretation? If it's real and there's a picture of the real car available, you should post it with that model too. Sort of a before and after display.
spencer1984 Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Beautiful job, that's a classy looking Chevy! Great job on the derelict, too.
