JollySipper Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Had this for lunch today.... Some good roast beef on a toasted hamburger bun with real bacon bits, fried onion, and barbecue sauce, with some french onion Sun Chips..... Pretty tasty and semi-healthy!
Tom Geiger Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Who can identify these on my grille? Hint- New Jersey delicacy!

A local thing.. I was out in Seattle last summer and they had never heard of it! Some folks slice it thin, but I do mine thick and sometimes out on the grill. This summer I’ve been serving burgers with a thick slab on top! Edited August 21, 2020 by Tom Geiger
SfanGoch Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 It's a meat species related to Spam. Great fried or grilled.

Maybe closer to a salami... it does need refrigeration while Spam is inert. My wife once asked me about Gyro meat.. I told her it was like a ferret from Greece
SfanGoch Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 An open can of Spam requires refrigeration. Otherwise, it develops mold and can escape.
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 I worked hard and ate healthy all week, so tonight I'm going to load my gut down with Taco Bell. Yes...I really like Taco Bell. Must be the chihuahua in me.
Painted Black Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 (edited) "I worked hard and ate healthy all week, so tonight I'm going to load my gut down with Taco Bell." Did that a few weeks ago, wound up at the ER...and five days in the hospital.. Edited August 22, 2020 by Painted Black

SfanGoch Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 We got a real Sicilian pie (none of that Domino/Papa John/Pizza Hut cardboard coated with ketchup and shredded processed cheese c_rap) with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and double anchovies.
HomerS Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Key Lime Shrimp Burrito with Pico De Gallo and extra sharp Cheddar cheese (hand shredded ...no bagged stuff) I'm fat for a reason! My boys are spoiled as a youth, my mom owned her owned her own beauty shop so she worked Saturdays. My Saturday lunch was can of Chef Boyardee as my father could burn a salad. I like to cook and would be even fatter if I did it full time. My mom was a great cook.....never measured anything and it came out the same every time!
StevenGuthmiller Posted August 31, 2020 Author Posted August 31, 2020 (edited) No pictures, but I had an individual give me a package of fresh caught Minnesota walleye at work on Friday, so tonight I fried some up, along with some roasted Brussels sprouts and carrots and a mixed green salad with blue cheese, bacon and pear and grape tomatoes from the garden. If you've never had fresh walleye, you're missing one of the worlds great delicacies! Steve Edited August 31, 2020 by StevenGuthmiller

Steven... As a former Wisconsinite I have to say, Walleye is one of the best fish dishes! Nothing better than the "Walleye dinner" at "THE RANCH" in Hayward Wisconsin .?Get the baked potato. not into fish? Order the Steak, soooooo goooood.?? Edited August 31, 2020 by STYRENE-SURFER
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Pan-fried 3/4 pound blue-cheese burger. Brown finely chopped onion and garlic in a tablespoon of olive oil. Plop the burger on, and the onion/garlic mixture forms a nice crispy crust. Flip it when it's time, and cover with crumbled blue cheese for the last minute or so of cooking, covered. I usually slather the bun with Hellman's mayo, a little Dijon mustard, and top with a juicy slice of heirloom tomato and cracked pepper. Sliced jalapenos are good too.
OldTrucker Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Fresh green beans, red potatoes with onions and bacon! 2nd time around = even better!

HomerS Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Flaming Hot Cheetos (crusted) sushi from Kroger's......grab the first two put out! Got some serious kick to it.
Rodent Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Made this kale / sausage/ gnocchi thing that I have made before. Baked a pesto / parmesan quick bread this afternoon that accompanied it.
ewetwo Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Dinner tonight will be Tuna Noodle Casserole. But the best part will be dessert. Tomato Soup Cake. :-)

Sometimes I'll make a Knorr pasta side and put a can of either tuna or chicken in it.... That's usually really good. Tonight I had some chicken breast tenderloins from the indoor grill, a Knorr mushroom flavored rice side, and the real treat was some jalapeno cheese cornbread made by my neighbor friend...... A man-sized meal, because I'm a man-sized guy!
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 23, 2020 Author Posted November 23, 2020 Japanese Sirloin Steaks with Mirin Demi-Glace, Buttery Glazed Carrots and Jasmine Rice. Steve
