Belugawrx Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 I do like the Fujimi Enthusiasts model artwork
unclescott58 Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Interesting to see all the wonderful box art above. Despite all of that great box art, after you built a few models back then, you knew to trust the company logo even more. I like the box art above for th Revell '57 Chevy Sport Coupe, with the guy with the surf board and the two bikini clad women. Beautiful box art. But the kit inside? Just the tires alone that Revell put in their kits back then at the time would keep me away. The AMT kit '57 was so much better and easier to build. Plus the box art was pretty good. And it came with one piece soft vinyl tires. The Revell '57? Two piece hard plastic tires. Yeck! There are many kits I love for their box art. But, their content? That's another story.
afx Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 I agree the Fujimi Porsche kits have some nice box art.
Mike999 Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Some gorgeous HELLER box art for 1/24 kits, from the 1970s.
slusher Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 I really like this one also being a fan of the 49 Ford...
oldscool Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 I really like this one also being a fan of the 49 Ford... Me too and what is amazing is that the artist managed to make the white paint look pearlescent.
Snake45 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 My favorite box art is the entire line of AMT '66 annuals. They were gorgeous! Their '67s through '69s weren't bad, either. In fact, much of AMT's box art through this era was beautiful. I have too many "favorites" to show or even list them all.
unclescott58 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Wow! The Piper Tri Pacer box art above, is great.
Snake45 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Wow! The Piper Tri Pacer box art above, is great.I had that very kit as a kid. Today I have about two or three copies of that kit, unbuilt, but not in that box.
unclescott58 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 I had that very kit as a kid. Today I have about two or three copies of that kit, unbuilt, but not in that box. Was the kit any good? And is that the same kit they've had on the selves in recent years? I have little to know interest in the kit itself. If it's not a Beech, I'm not a big fan of smaller civilian aircraft. But, I do love the box art. Sure gives that feeling of flying. And I love the local. Lakes, woods, and mountains. It looks like heaven to me.
mk11 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 (edited) To me, the best box art is evocative, like that piper box; it drags you into the scene, striking a chord and maybe makes you want to be there... and when the contents actually match the packaging... Just picked up another one at a model train show a few weeks ago and I still like it as much as I did forty years ago mike Edited November 19, 2017 by mk11
Lovefordgalaxie Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 (edited) My all time favorite kit and box art. Edited November 19, 2017 by Lovefordgalaxie Forgot most of the pictures.

Here's an in-box kit review: https://modelingmadness.com/scott/civil/trippreview.htm And here's one built up right here in our midst:
gtx6970 Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 (edited) A few of my favorites Edited November 20, 2017 by gtx6970 1
Snake45 Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 I have that '69 Road Runner box. I don't have tha '56 Ford box, but I remember it vividly, and when I get around to building mine, it's going to be very much "inspired by" that box art.
Bucky Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 The Camaro with the engine swap is very cool box art! Typical Chevrolet, tho! LOL (Spoken by a true MOPAR fan!!) HAHAHA

If your interested in selling or trading the roadrunner box Keep me in mind ( I have the original issue kit )
Junkman Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Had an Aaron Draplin moment at Telford and bought this just for the box art.
Snake45 Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 The Camaro with the engine swap is very cool box art! Typical Chevrolet, tho! LOL (Spoken by a true MOPAR fan!!) HAHAHA Swap is right. They're dropping a Rat motor into that "SS350."
Snake45 Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 If your interested in selling or trading the roadrunner box Keep me in mind ( I have the original issue kit ) I have the original kit that came in it, too--built (in 1969). I think I have a reissue in that box now. It's slightly possible I have two of those boxes--if so, I'll keep you in mind on the spare.
The Junkman Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Yes, I am a baby boomer and this, my friends, is Jack Leynnwood
