Well, they're not exactly like picking up stones from a gravel road, but they are out there.

As far as price goes, any time you have a kit that is OOP, you are going to have to pay a price for it.

$70.00 may sound high, but it all depends on how badly you want one.

You can buy 3 modern kits that you can live without, or you can save your money & buy one that you really want.

It's all relative.

As they say, you have to pay to play. :)

Or, you can wait & hope that Round 2 re-issues it sometime before we die!

You are right Steve. One was on Ebay the other day and then gone. I don't know if they pulled it or what.

it absolutely was.

An AMT (Model King) repop.

It was reissued in limited numbers a few years ago & is not terribly difficult to find.

So we know that AMT still possesses the molds.

It could be reissued again at any time.

Funny thing is that the response to the Model King reissue was ho-hum,  it was a slow seller.  So Dave never went back for a second batch.

Yeah, you would think that there would have been more interest.

Probably had something to do with it being a curbside kit?

Curbside doesn't bother me at all. I just don't care enough for that car to buy one.

Doesn't bother me either.

I just think that there are a lot of guys that have no interest in anything other than a full detail kit.

They're missing out on a lot of great subject matter in my opinion.

Agreed. And there's a lot of good stuff available in inexpensive diecast that can't be had in readily available (or affordable) kits, too. B)

Even if it's just the camper parts, I'd be happy. I already have the window van waiting.

I have that one but sadly its missing the raised roof camper and interior camper parts to it....has a huge hole in the roof..well almost no roof.

That's a shame, all the missing parts are what make it a camper. Did you at least get the window parts?

Doesn't look like it would be to hard to make a camper top out of sheet styrene. Design your own! You can make it better...faster...stronger! B) You could make it (wait for it)......

THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR VAN!

I guess I have two bucket list models;

-  the AMT 67 Mustang Mach 1 show car
- and the (potentially mythical) AMT 65 Plymouth Valiant (or Dart)

I've almost pulled the trigger on the Mustang a couple of times on ebay, but either the prices or the kit condition were not favourable. And despite reports otherwise, I'm still wondering if the Valiant is a unicorn. It's my grail kit.

The Valiant exists. I have the grille/bumpers/headlights from one (acquired in a bag of random parts). And yes, I have plans for it. B)

A 65 Valiant kit or promo isn’t all that scarce. The tough one is the 66 Valiant, very scarce as a promo, didn’t make it to kit. It is available in resin though.
