ewetwo Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 !960 Corvette is done. I t came black so I ran with it.
bbowser Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Very nice! Those outdoor shots are very convincing.
Snake45 Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Very nice! You got a pretty good finish on this one, too! Well done and model on!
Dave Darby Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 (edited) Those old Revell multi piece body kits sure build up nice, dont they? Looks great. You did a beautiful job. Evidently great minds think alike... I did this one 25 years ago. Edited October 13, 2018 by Dave Darby
OldTrucker Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 That is a real slick looking Corvette! Great job!
ewetwo Posted October 13, 2018 Author Posted October 13, 2018 I wanted to put the whitewalls on it but I haven't gotten my circle cutter yet. it's back ordered. Yours is beautiful Dave. I originally painted the indentation the side red but didn't like it. Snake. I didn't painted it. I just coated it. So I can't take credit for the paint job.
espo Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Great looking build. Very classic color combination. You had mentioned the desire to go with white walls, maybe the tires from one of the later Revell kits with the white wall inserts might help.
ewetwo Posted October 13, 2018 Author Posted October 13, 2018 Thank for the comment and input. I appreciate it. I tried the whitewalls I had but none of them worked. And the wheels that came with the kit were the only option. I need to find a place that sells the wheel backs so I can use other wheels and hub caps.
ewetwo Posted November 12, 2018 Author Posted November 12, 2018 I got the circle cutter but I can't figure out how to get nice whitewalls. Do you cut the middle of the white wall first or second?
Dave Darby Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Cut the outside first. My white walls are hand painted on old AMT Trophy series tires. Stock wheel covers are from an MPC 57-60 Corvette.
tkzwolf Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Very sharp! Looks good the way you posed it on the street.
